Well as of this morning 8:12am the one you all loved and cared about known as The Dark Messenger had taken a trip into the afterlife after hearing a sound that quite literally resembles the end of the world.

In reality my student residence thought it would be a brilliant idea to set off a fire alarm drill at the unholy hour of 8am. I was in fact awake already since I had an exam at 10am so I work up at 8 but I like to snooze til 8:30 so I re-set my alarm for 8:30. I was lying there slowly waking up til a sound that quite literally and excuse my language but is necessary scared the living shit out of me went off. Its like a dying fire siren or something but very loud and very irritating. Though I had no idea, I checked to see if there was any smoke..I saw none and just covered my ears, get real am I going outside for a drill.

Suddenly it stopped...so I thought, "ah thats fine then" then layed down again...

...3 minutes later

The wailing sound of my death came back on. Since I was not expecting it I thought I had a heart attack...I kid you not. I got myself together stormed out of my room cursing to no end expecting the people who test the fire alarm to be there....nope. Just my flatmates also not happy.

Then it stopped again...then a minute later it started again. We actually had no idea whether it was real or not or the student residence was playing some shit prank. Though apparently it spanned the whole area not just my block.

At this point I am still pretty shooken up by the whole thing since the sound actually scares me now. It stopped in the end with nothing in sight going on. So in the end I stayed up and got ready and stuff. Still my body is shaking and I can't calm down so I have to cook myself a bacon sandwich and a cup of coffee to calm myself. I was more worried about my state affecting my exams at 10.

In the end I took the exams and passed with flying colours so in the end happy days. The sound is still in the back of my head though. If it goes off again (God forbid), I will copy the sound and post it. There was no explanation to the alarm.

haha fucking residence fire alarms.... I have plenty of stories about those lol.

Once I was in the shower and it went off.... I had to leave still covered in soap haha.

A couple times it would go off a tlke 4:30am, the worst possible time (in the Ottawa winter as well) so there'd be like 600 students in their PJs and it was minus 20

Once I was actually getting laid when it went off.... I was really pissed off lol.

Haha, wow. So, by "still soaped" you mean you have clothes on and just were soaped under them still? Man, running out there naked... Haha...

Ah Dave, that has happened to me a number of times, all during the winter. Get this. 10 o clock in the morning, Chicago Winter, specifically, Feburary, the absolute worst time to go outside. Fire alarm rings, we HAVE to go out, no one could get their coats, we sit outside for about 20 minutes, go back in, and then the alarm rings again and we sit outside for another 15 minutes.

Not surprisingly, there was alot of people sick then next day. >_>

There was no official announcement nor did the people at the admin office apparently knew about it so its a mystery. On the plus side the person who did complain went nuts at the poor old ladies, it was rather entertaining.

Now that would really suck.
