View Full Version : I hate my job

Do you? Give us a good reason. :)

I hate my job because it's just weird. I work at a movie theater and I have the weirdest and cheapest bosses ever. All they care about is making sure all their money is safe and that we are doing stuff at all times. They have cameras everywhere, and when they get bored, they watch the live videos at their homes, and if you aren't doing anything or are doing something they don't want you to do they'll call up and tell you to get back to work... even when there's absolutely nothing to do.
One time the popcorn machine was broken so both of my bosses were at the theater repairing it and there was absolutely NOTHING to do, I was so desperate for something to do (just so I didn't get in trouble) that I got a toothbrush and started to wash the tiles on the wall in the bathroom.
Secondly, the people I work with are just a little crazy as well. For instance one of the managers is a 35yr old guy who is the perfect example of a man in a mid-life crisis, he's really pathetic and weird, the perfect example of a guy you don't want to be when you're in your 30's.

Only thing I hate about my job is having to clean out ashtrays and the fact that my hours are really shakey. :monster: I mean, it's pub work, and if the place is dead, I get sent home really early. Sometimes I'm told I don't have to be in at all. But there's also the odd time where I put in the extra couple of hours.

Apart from that, though, I love my job. The staff are really cool, and the chefs are the friendliest people ever. I also get a free meal on my break, and the chefs there cook the NICEST food ever. They've made loads of stuff that I usually don't like, but they make it nice. :O Also, the regulars are really cool, so I get along great with them, and people are very generous with their tips. Like tonight I made 33 euro, and last weekend I made a total of 80 euro. It's great. xD

By the way, I do bar work at this fairly posh hotel. :D

Ya, I really hate my job! I got in at three last night and got woken up at six because my mother made me go to church(my mother being her catholic self as she is).

Ya, I just went around the shopping center just south of me and went to store after store getting job applications.

You hate your job + you go to college = you get a better job that you don't hate eventaully

I use to manage a Drycleaners and I really hated that damn job. I had to wake up at 6 every morning and be on my feet until 5 PM. I still continued to go to night classes for college, and after two years of college, I got my associates in Accounting and a new job. I'm currently an Expense Auditor and it's a great job. Trust me people, put up with your annoying jobs until something better comes up, I worked at that Drycleaners for 4 years before I got a new job.

Honestly you're 14 you're not going to get a good paying or job thats worth your time, people with education and experience get those jobs.

So either suck it up and do the shitty work for your dollar or leech off mommy and daddy for a couple more years.

Well I have a better paying job than most people who work part-time. And I wasn't focusing the thread only on myself, how about you actually contribute to the thread with a good post about your own job?

Welcome to the spam forums. If you want a real discussion make your threads elsewhere.

This thread seems good enough for the “Lobby” so I’ll move it there ;)

I honestly don’t hate my job to that degree. I just don’t like the new owners and I have no idea what’s gonna happen in the next few months and what kind of changes they’re planning. So at this moment that’s all I hate cuz I loved it for the past 3 yrs I’ve been here until now (of course it had its ups and downs but they were tolerable), heh it pays good money so I’m good…for now

Ohhh sounds like a good job Vivi, congrats :)

I don't hate my job really. I just hate the people I work for. I really disagree with their policies and the way they run things. For healthcare the place is run an awful lot like McDonalds.

Atleast you don't work IN McDonald's... I'd find that very degrading. =\

Hey I did McDonalds for two years and Braum's for a year and a half before that :P
Nothing wrong with it.

Actually many education and healthcare places now are running on the McDonalds model.

Umm I thought it was common sense that any profitable organisation would think like that.

Well thanks to the credit crunch I am now redundant. Therefore I can't really complain anymore about bosses but rather I wish I was still working.

I hope you’ve found some other way for your job. It is pretty annoying right? We should work in a happy and flexible environment.
