A Flare For Adventure

Prologue
It was a long day… and an even longer night. Oh how Aura hated these get-to-gather’s… she was shunned enough as it is… why did she have to get even more when guests were around or invited. She may not have been all that liked in her family… But she should still be able to see the marvelous balls that were held in her older sibling’s honor… She hated being left out. Actually, that was what everyday was like. She was left alone and wasn’t paid attention, unless doing something she shouldn’t, to. She was always alone and couldn’t even leave the confines of the castle… why? Cause she’d be hurt by the villagers. They believed it was HER fault her mother died…. How could it be when she had just been born when she had died? She couldn’t understand it, but they did also say she looked a lot like her mother as well… another reason she was hated, especially by her older siblings. One brother, the eldest, and three sisters, they all hated her with a passion… and yet, her father may have shown cruelty to her, yet he never got rid of her? It would have been easier to just kill or leave her on the outskirts of the castle when just a babe to die or be taken in by some beggar or peasant.

These things always played through the mind of Aura’s young mind… Being twelve was hard.. but she never really did like what her siblings, nor her father did. They were all rather cruel and she never felt like them. She did hate them with all her heart, but didn’t feel that she could hurt or even bring pain on them. She was everything like her mother, from looks to personality. She felt that everything should be allowed a chance and should never be under minded… let alone killed for no good reason. She was the black sheep in the flock in the palace, but couldn’t do anything. She may have been shunned and left alone, but there was still watchful eyes to make sure she STAYED in the palace walls. The only green place she could ever visit was her mother’s old garden… it wasn’t tended to at all, but she tried to keep it tidy and somewhat kept free of weeds and other vermin.

Tonight wasn’t any different. Though the ball was underway, Aura was in the library looking for books on what kind of steps she needed to take care of a certain plant she had never seen bloom in the garden. Getting frustrated, Aura began to sigh and wished for any definite thing to help.. or even break the painful silence she had to endure at the moment.

Kel snuck through the castle staying out of sight and in the shadows. This wasn't his castle and he wasn't supposed to be here. 'I just don't see why they thought it was such a big deal to come here...' Kel quietly chuckled to himself. 'Cant go? Now that I've seen whats going on here...why would I even WANT to go? The party they were obsessing over is just a bunch of adults wearing uncomfortable clothing standing around.....pretending to be more important then they really are. Still, My castle has treasure.....this one should too right? I bet this place has tons of magical goodies.' Kel found his way to a set of closed ornate double doors. Quietly slipping inside the room he was disappointing to find that it was just a library. 'books?' he thought sourly, 'What a let down....I wanted treasure.' Sighing he looked around the room and saw a small girl absorbed in a book. 'I bet she lives here....so then she might know where the treasure is!' walking quietly up behind her he leaned over her shoulder and whispered in to her ear. after all he wasn't invited and needed to keep a low profile so he wouldn't get grounded when he got back home. It wouldn't stop his adventures of course....but it made them that much more dangerous. "I'm bored. Wheres the treasure in this place anyways?"

Aura jumped from the breech of silence and threw the book she was reading up into the air s she fell backward, gasping but not screaming… It’d definitely get her into trouble if she did.

Kel jumped into action not wasting a moment. Reaching out he caught the book in one hand as he wrapped his other arm around the girls waist pulling her into him as she fell back so she wouldn't land on her ass. When shed regained he balance he let her go and spun her around to face him. "Geez lady. you should be more careful. You could draw a lot of attention if you made a clatter like that was shaping up to be. Now then. Wheres the treasure? cause that party back there was REALLLY boring."

Aura looked at the boy and after he had let go, she had done the customary curtsy. “Sorry, and thank you. But you really shouldn’t sneak up on people.. Especially here… My dad doesn’t really like kids…” Aura said as she bowed and then stood back up. “My name’s Aura… What’s yours, though I know where the treasury is I don't know how to get in… I’m not allowed near anyplace that is important…” She sighed and looked behind her at the rows of books…

"My names Kel. Kel Firedorn. Pleased to meat you Aura. If you know the way then lets go." He then turned and started back towards the door. "Oh don't worry about the guards. I can get us past them. You just need to get us there."

“Umm…” Aura said as she backed away and headed towards a different area of the library… “It’s actually this…. Way…” Aura said as she lit a candle and placed it into a lantern… Touching a certain book and then moved a painting to the side slightly. There was a dark opening. “There’s two treasuries… but this one’s better as the first is usually just for show and is mainly to hold all the gold within the castle…There’s a few other baubles and objects I there as well.. but the really good stuff’s kept down here so that no one would know about them…” Aura stopped and blinked before turning… “I stumbled on it when I was coming to get a book… Saw the king do what I just did and went down, holding something that looked arcane.. but didn’t come back up with it.” Aura said as she quickly climbed into and behind the painting. “You coming?”

Kel laughed. "And turn down the opportunity for adventure? Lead on fair lady Aura! The treasure awaits us." Kel followed her in the passage. The promise of a real adventure driving him on with ceaseless excitement.

“Fair lady.. hehe. No one’s ever called me that…” Aura giggled as she headed into the darkness. There was a short passage and then down a flight of stairs. But she didn’t mind this Kel’s company… but she swore she had heard the name Firedorn before… but where?

“So how did you get into the castle anyways? I’ve never seen you around here before... but it’s not like I’ve seen anything outside the castle but from a window…” Aura said as she seemed to become glum as she thought about how her life was.

Kel shrugged. "There a party and my family was invited like normal, so i snuck along this time without my brothers knowing i was there with them. Its easy to stay hidden if people aren't looking for you." Kel stopped walking and looked at Aura. "Wait....You've never left this castle? That means you live here right? So your a princess of this backwater kingdom? Why haven't you left before?"

[Akira Avelon]

“Because I can’t…” Aura said as she stopped in the middle of going down the steps. “I’m not allowed to go anywhere… But I think it’s better this way… I know I can’t get hurt anymore than what can happen here…” Aura said as she shuddered and started walking faster. She didn’t want to say anymore and tell a perfect stranger that she was shunned and even beaten at times for no god reason… verbally and physically. “L-let’s keep going…”

"Not allowed to leave the castle?" Kel muttered as he continued walking. "OH! I know!" he exclaimed stopping abruptly. "You must be one of those princesses in need of rescue! Guess that makes me the prince? We're on our way to the treasure so that just leaves the evil Dragon."

Aura giggled… but stopped… “Umm.. does a big snake count?” Pointing up as one slithered into view above them and flicked it’s tongue out at them as it watched the two kids. “Though… I’m not sure rescuing me will do any good… I’d get hurt a lot faster out beyond these walls than I am already inside them… Apparently I am the sole reason why my mother died.. and am blamed, hated and shunned for it.” Aura said as she was seemingly beginning to cry silently… She hated being blamed for something she could do nothing about.

Kel laughed. "Ooooo....Dragon!" He turned back to Aura. "Give me the lantern. I'll get rid of it." when he had the lantern in his hand he opened it so the flame was exposed he pulled a small stone out of his pocket and placed it on the lantern. "what was it again?.....oh yeah. Sir-Lo Sol!" A jet of blue flame lanced out and engulfed the snake, only letting up once the snake was blue tinted ash. Kel turned once again back to Aura and handed her the lantern. Grinning he spoke to her. "Well. One less dragon to terrorize the fair princess. Lead on."

“Magic? Was that magic!?” Aura said amazed at the display… but a little shocked that Kel would actually kill the snake. It wasn’t poisonous or anything as she had seen a somewhat similar snake around the castle. They were harmless and took care of the rats… She’d rather have a cat… but that’s how her father ran the castle… that and the snakes would have eaten the cats anyways…

“I’ve never seen magic before… well except for my father’s mage…. But that’s it.” Aura said as she taken the lantern and began re-leading the way down the stairs. Coming to the bottom and looking around… “Okay… now just down here… but I don’t have the key to get in…” She said as she wondered how Kel would get them in?

"Ummm.....yeah it was...but I don't have much affinity for it. I still have to use these stones in order for it to work. My sister is a lot better at it then me." When Aura stopped at a corner Kel peaked his head around and frowned. "Two metal golems huh? this is going to take some effort. Take my hand Aura and don't let go till I tell you too.." When she complied he again took the stone in his free hand and uttered another spell. "Tal-Eth! Ok now so long as you don't say anything and keep a hold of my hand no one else will be able to see or hear anything we do." Kel then led her to the door and this time placed the hand with the stone on the giant stone door and murmured "Nef-lum." The stone suddenly glowed a bright white and the door began to ripple as if it were just an upright puddle of water. Kel pushed through the door traveling silently through it and pulling Aura through after him.

Aura was completely speechless as she had gone past the golems and then THROUGH the solid stone door. She never knew something like this could be real. But to have magic that did this? Was Kel really an adventurous prince… or… a thief in disguise? Though intrigued… Aura was a little wary now, but she remembered where she had heard the name Firedorn before. “OH! Firedorn… now I remember where I’ve heard that name… umm… are you really a member of the royal family in Alundra? Er… my dad doesn’t speak kindly of it…” Aura said as she looked around with the lantern... she saw a lot of stuff she never even knew was in the castle. “Are you a thief? I don’t think any prince would have magic like what you just used….” Aura said as she went over and looked at some of the small artifacts on a table. There were a few strange things with gems inserted into them, but there was one pendant that she liked.. but left it alone. “So what now?” Aura said as she looked back at Kel.

Kel nodded absently as he wandered around the treasury looking for an appropriate trophy. "Yeah...I'm the youngest son. As for your dad...I can't say much one way or the other. I'm not very up to date on the political side of things. To much headaches. I'd rather spend my time going on adventures." Kel stopped as his eye caught a small heavily jeweled dagger. "Ooooo...Very pretty." Kel said as he slipped the dagger and its equally gemmed sheath into his belt line. before moving along to see what else he could find. "Truth be told my magic doesn't work nearly as well back in Alundra as it does here. Back home is to saturated with the stuff so it has to be that much more potent to even work. When you mix that with all the protection charms and such floating around it makes it very hard for me to use magic at all. Outside of Alundra's different. I think its cause there's a lot less magic floating around." Kel wound up standing next to Aura who was looking at some necklace "....Pretty. Tell you what partner. I keep that pendant with your crest on it....And you can have my ring. You ever want to get out of here that ring will see you safely to Alundra."

“Okay. I guess that can work… but I’m just wondering if they’ll miss the pendant or not.. but whatever. Not like they care bout me. Why should I care about what they care about a simple pendant…. Right?” Aura said as she was trying to decide on it. Though she didn’t really mind as it wasn’t hers… nothing really was. “Well, I guess we should head back… There are a few guards that keep an eye on me periodically… they should be checking in soon as I’ve been not in my usual place for a while…” Aura finished as she pocketed a glass vial of blue water. She had seen some of it before and knew it helped plants grow.

“Shall we return to the Library and you can hide while I get checked on before heading to the main treasury?”

Kel shrugged. "Nah. I've had my fill of treasure for one night. besides...the other one just has gold and jewels right? I have lots of those back home. Besides...the party will be over soon and I'd rather not get left behind....Id be in so much trouble when I got home it wouldn't be funny." Kel pocketed the pendent before using the stones to cast the same stealth and smoke spells he had before. "Lead on fair princess."

Aura started showing the way as the stair case came into view with the lantern and then the small walk way.. Peering through two small holes in the portrait, Aura saw it was safe and moved the painting so that they both could get out. Quickly heading back to the red leather bound book and hit the secret switch below it to make the passage close. “Move the portrait back… I hear them coming…” Aura said as she quickly moved to a pile of books and began going through them. Adding a few more to the pile to male it look like she had gone through a few from the last time they had been there.

Kel did as instructed and then quickly tossed his signet ring to Aura as he ducked out of site behind a bookshelf a couple rows back. Crouching on his haunches he pulled the stone out again and whispered "Tal-Eth." When nothing happened he tried again. "Tal-Eth!" Again nothing happened. "Damn....Come on work damn you! TAL-ETH!" The stone started glowing a very pale blue and then went dull again. 'Damn. Guess I'm dry. Oh well...guess I do things the old fashioned way.' Kel slunk back into the shadows just as the doors opened and a couple of people walked in to the room loudly.

Aura pretended not have noticed them come in as she got her nose right into the book and started looking through a book that FINALLY told her what she needed for the garden. “Found it.. Oh…” She finished as the two guards looked sternly at her and then shock their heads. “Curfew is in an hour. Finish what you’re doing and get to your room. If you’re not there when the maid checks on you… then you’ll have to deal with us again…and last time wasn’t so good was it?” they both snickered as Aura shivered and ducked as the one hit the table before both laughed their way out and into the corridor… “Sorry you had to see that. But that happens a lot to me.” Aura said as she turned around to face the direction Kel was hiding in.

"Sounds like bad news all around." Kel said as his eyes narrowed towards the door. "Id torch them both if i thought i could get away with it without starting a war...Its a major crime in Alundra for a peasant such as that to treat any member of any royal blood line that way." Kel glared and then sighed. "But still...we aren't in Alundra at the moment." Kel turned back to Aura. "Are you sure you wont reconsider? Alundra would treat you far nicer then anything you'd get here."

Aura sighed but gave a comforting smile. “I’d love to, sounds quite joyful… but even if I’m all around shunned and hated… I’d also be missed.. er noticed I was gone rather immediately… as you saw.. I’m watched and kept tabs on periodically… You wouldn’t get out of the country before I was deemed missing. I don’t want to bring misfortune to your family… I’m at least with honor in this family I was brought into…” Aura said as she tried to keep her smile on her face, even though she wished to hug Kel and thank him for the gesture. He was the first person to show her kindness, empathy and he even worried about her well being. She wished that they’d meet again in the future. Until then, her memory of him and his ring would keep her going.

Kel nodded to Aura and silently left the library. Slipping back into the party just as it was winding down. Making his way back to the coach his siblings came in on he snuck back into the storage compartment to await the return trip. He didn't mind that Aura rejected his offer...much anyways, something instinctual told him they'd meet again somewhere down the line. It was inevitable. He could feel it. In the meantime he had his trophies of his first real treasure hunt to keep him amused.

Eight Years Later...

The streets of the merchant town named Kamir in the Feridian Province, in the north, of the kingdom of Valkoma were as busy as usual. But something was up… more and more soldiers were beginning to surface on the streets. But they weren’t after a thief, they were searching for something… or was it someone?

A lone figure was hastily walking through the crowds, ducking and dodging every soldier she could, only a few wisps of her light brown hair could be seen underneath the long cloak she adorned over her head and shoulders. A single piece of cloth covered her mouth as she held what looked to be a ring, attached to a chain around her neck, tightly in her hand. She was praying to it silently for a safe get away.

She wished for freedom and these ever growing population of guards were beginning to make that dream come crashing down.. All the gates had been closed and now she had to search for someplace to go to wait and hide until she could get out of this city and closer to Alundra…. She needed to get there and meet someone… no, to meet the one person that made her have the courage to actually run from her fate back home…

Keeping at her brisk pace, the young woman kept going through the crowds, as she had bumped into a young man. She didn’t waver, as a soldier had gotten rather close, as she ducked under a flying fish, that was being thrown from one merchant to another, before running into an alley way and began her search for a place to hide once again. Not knowing that perhaps the one she was searching for had just walked right past her in reality…

Kel wandered down the street. He was late for an appointment. 'Was it Kira? Rachel maybe? So hard to keep all of there names strait. Not that they'd care if they found out I had other lovers running around. None of them care about anything else when they're near me.' A girl bumped in to him and passed quickly by, but it was enough to knock him back in to the present. looking up he saw a group of guards closing in. "Damn. Not what i need right now." With the alliance on everywhere was supposed to be an 'open' area, but because of the kings dislike of Alundra some places were far more....open then others. and while he could go nearly anywhere the guards here had orders to harass him whenever possible. "Guess my liaison this afternoons been canceled. Mores the pity." Kel slunk back in to the crowd and slipped into the back of a seedy tavern. 'This'll be fine till things cool down outside.'

By the time the young woman was about to re-enter open space, she saw more guards… ‘Damn… they're swarming over here… must be trying to flush me out and surround me…’ the woman thought as she moved back and went in the same way she had come previously, taking a different turn and seeing a slightly ajar doorway into a building. Opening it quickly and turning inside, she closed the door tightly and looked for something to barricade it with… She moved an iron chair and placed it under the door knob, turning and nearly bumping into another person. She knew better and tried to hurry out of the way and try to find a place to hide once more. Ducking this man’s eyes so that he couldn’t see hers just in case it was an allied man of her father’s…

As Kel tried to get a look at the person who'd run into him without noticing he was even standing there his eyes caught the sight of a ring on a chain slip out of the cloak she was wearing. 'That's.....the family crest.' "Where did you get that ring?" Kel asked her as he grabbed the woman's' shoulders to keep her from running.

[Akira Avelon]

The woman stood there but frowned as she looked at her chest. The ring was indeed showing as she quickly grasped it, trying to struggle out of his grasp. “Let me go…. They’re coming.” she said before finally kicking him in the shin, hoping that that’d work as she tried to remove his hands from her shoulders, hearing the yelling from outside that the soldiers were getting closer and they knew where she was… “She went this way, Hurry. We have to bring her back. She has to be around here somewhere. The spies said so!” A group of soldiers yelled out as they passed the door to which the girl and Kel were behind..

"Ow! Damn it girl." Kel spun her around and pressed her against the nearest wall. "Okay. Kicking me is not the best way to go about improving your situation. Keep this racket up and those Valkoman oafs out there WILL hear you and then they WILL find you. That's bad right? Okay so I'm going to ask you one more time and if you still insist on kicking me instead of just politely answering the question I'll take you to them myself. Now. Where did you get that ring?"

[Akira Avelon]

The woman was now pressed up against the wall, next time.. make sure to kick in the crotch… but when he began to mock the Valkoman military.. she had to blink… but her present position made her think back and be reminded… this wasn’t exactly the best pose to be in.

“Let go… a friend gave it to me. I ran away to go meet him. He said I’d be safe.. now let me go… you’re hurting me!!” The woman said as she tried to struggle, only managing to loosen her cloak as it fell off of her head and showed off the hair pin, with the Valkoma crest on it, which she had for the last ten years.

"Okay. Spirit of cooperation here. I let you go you stay here with me and quietly answer a couple more questions. I might even be able to make it worth your time. Seeing as I'm from Alundra and all." When the girl stopped violently struggling Kel let go of her and took two steps back. shed still have to try and blow past him if she was going to try and leave, but at least this way she should feel less crowded. "This...boy who gave you that ring, What was his name? You must be someone special if you've got both Alundra's and Valkoma's royal crests on you. Last I checked those two kingdoms didn't much care for each other."

The woman felt him back off and as she turned, she was blinking, but as soon as her eyes had met with his, she blushed but turned away… “His… name was Firedorn… Kel Firedorn… HE told me I’d be safe as long as I wore this to Alundra.. But it’s been nothing but a pain. I’ve been hassled since the moment I got out of the castle… I’d like to slap him for all the grief I’ve had over the last few weeks… but…” She paused as she started to cry… “I want to hug him even more for what he had done for me. If it wasn’t for that boy.. I’d probably still be locked up and wed to that dark wizard… and not have had the hope or courage to get out before anything could happen.. Er… I’m sorry… Let me go. I’m sure they’ll check this place soon after scouring the alleyways.” The young green eyed woman said as she had turned to look in the man’s general direction.

Kel laughed at the absurdity of it all. 'Aura? Its really Aura after all this time? I haven't seen her since we were kids. Shes aged really well too....just look at that body. Might need to find the time for a bit of a liaison with her later...' "Seems I can be of more assistance then I thought. Kel Firedorn at your service fair lady Aura." Kel mock bowed. This was just to funny to him. "First and foremost the barricaded door major no no. those oafs of your fathers will immediately be on guard if they find a blocked door." Kel walked over to it and moved the chair to the side. "Now then. We head over to the bar proper order a couple drinks and blend in while keeping a low profile. You'll need to hide that hair pin of yours though.... dead give away that your royalty and all that." Kel stopped and looked her over. "Pull that hood down too. Look as if you belong. Hmm...Yeah that should do on short notice."

Aura looked Kel over and then it happened. She slapped him and looked like she was going to fume… but the waterworks began and she wrapped her arms around his neck and started to cry into his shirt.. “Stupid! You actually made me think you were a spy or something…” She cried out softly into his chest as she was over joyed to have finally found the only friend she had ever made.

Moving back and drying her tears, Aura took Kel’s advice and stripped her hair of her family’s crest, as well as, lower the hood fully and pull her hair out so it covered the now lowered hood. She sniffed and took out a handkerchief, wiped her tears and then tried to smile… “But, I don’t drink…” Was all she said as she looked over Kel once more. ‘He’s definitely become a handsome man over the past eight years… I wonder which side of his family he gets it from?’ Aura thought as she jumped when she heard more footsteps coming closer to the door once again.. “Eep…”

"You'll learn. Come on." Kel said as he grabbed her hand he quickly made his way to the main room, swiping two drinks from the first two patrons he'd seen that had already had to much to drink. Kel parked his ass in one of the empty back tables and pulled Aura down beside him as he scooted over to make some room for her and tossed a drink in front of each of them. "Drink up. Come on, you got the good stuff. Mines just Scotch." Kel watched as Aura took an unsure and delicate sip of her drink and grimace as Kel downed his in one gulp. "Ick. What is this stuff?!" Kel took the glass and sniffed it. "Its...." Taking an experimental sip he grimaced. "Its umm..." He held it up to a light. "Its....Blue?" Kel said at last before downing the whole glass, and immediately started coughing and sputtering. "Okay...so that wasn't so good." Just then a couple of soldiers came in from the entrance they'd just come from and started looking around. Seeing only a bunch of drunk patrons drinking quietly they sighed and left to check the next building.

Aura watched out of the corner of her eye as the soldiers came in and went.. “Now what? We can’t stay here forever..” She said as she patted Kel’s back. “You going to be okay? You shouldn’t have drank that all at once…”

"Now we wait five minutes for the blue stuff to burn itself out from my system and then slip the noose those oafs were trying to tie around you." Kel looked at Aura his vision already clearing. "I'll be fine. It takes more then some toxic drinks to put a Firedorn under a table. Our family burns off the alcohol to quickly. Good for when you want to pump someone for information, bad for when you wanna get drunk off your ass." Once he was able to see strait and could trust himself to stand up without falling on his face he took Aura by the hand and led her out of the Tavern, this time using the main entrance. Kel looked around and saw a couple of the guards waking in the opposite direction from the bar. They'd done it. They'd escaped from the closing cordon that the guards had been trying to catch Aura in. "Stay close and act like we're a couple. We can stay at the Inn Ive got a room at for the night, and we leave the city in the morning."

“Umm… alright. But you’re sleeping on the floor when it becomes dark out…” She said slightly jokingly, while she took Kel’s arm and pretended to be his lover of sorts… mimicking one of her sisters as she did so. It wasn’t long before they came to the inn that Kel was staying at. She never even knew of this area. But she had only been in town for about a day... not enough time to sight see while being chased.

Kel laughed. "Don't worry. There's room enough for both of us...and maybe three others should you want things to get interesting later." Kel led her inside up past the front desk and strait up into his room before quietly closing the door behind them and locking it. The room was huge, the best the finest Inn in the providence could offer. It had everything from a balcony with a view to well....indoor plumbing and heated water. "Don't worry about anything now. The Innkeeper has strict instructions to drive off anyone but the cutest of females who comes snooping around. So feel free to make yourself comfortable." Kel took his tunic shirt off and tossed it on a small pile of his other cloths before sitting down in a chair with his arms behind his head.

Aura blinked and then looked for another chair. Pulling off the cloak and sitting like she normally would… all Princess like. How else would she? She was taught no other way to act… Awkwardly, Aura began to break the ice and start up a conversation, trying to become comfortable and not so tense. “So… umm, what have you been up to the last few years? Kel shrugged indifferently. "Ive been here, there, everywhere. Wherever there are cute Girls wanting my attentions or adventures to be had I've been there. As for magic....Ive made...some progress. I mean, I know some more spells now but I still don't have much of a knack for it though. Here." Kel got up and walked over to where his stuff was and tossed her a gauntlet he picked up from there. "I use that to channel my spells now instead of those small stones. The gauntlet itself absorbs magical energy's in the vicinity of its wearer and allows me to tap into it when i need to."

Aura fumbled with the gauntlet a bit before she had it in her grasp. Looking over it, it looked just like a normal gauntlet… but with some strange characters etched into the metal and some gems embedded into it. “Nice, but as you know, I’m worse off with magic than you…” Aura said as she got back up and handed Kel the gauntlet back. It was then that her stomach did the talking and she was officially embarrassed. “I’m sorry…” She said as she turned away and blushed. Walking right back to the chair and sitting down, looking right at the ground. Never did she think she’d have that occur to her in front of someone else who was royalty… though, she hadn’t had a good meal in almost a days time… she was hungry.

"Hungry? Alright stay here. I'll get us some food." Kel Opened the door and walked down to the kitchen. "I need two meals, to be delivered to my room as soon as possible. Thanks." When he walked back up to the room he flashed a smile at Aura. "Food'll be up in a few minutes. Til then why don't you tell me what you want your long term plans to be. Getting in to Alundra's just the beginning you know. You've still got your whole life to live out yet."

Aura looked at Kel and then looked like she was thinking. “You know… I hadn’t thought that far… I just wanted to get away from this place, this kingdom, this hatred…” Aura said as she looked back at Kel… “My life has been nothing but a nightmare you tell to misbehaving kids to make them behave. I wouldn’t wish my life upon anyone.” She said as she stood up and walked towards the window that lead to the balcony. Looking out, Aura sighed as she held her arms close to her. Looking outside as she could still see some soldiers still looking for her.

Kel walked up behind Aura and put his arm on her shoulder. "Don't worry about them. They'll give up soon. Your safe here. I pay the Inn keeper good money to be...discrete about such things." Kel laughed. "Besides...Even if he wasn't, In here I have a major advantage over those guardsmen. My magic might be weak but its more then enough to deal with a few oafs....and I still have that dagger I found in your castle." Kel shook his head. "Of course I'll never get to use it on them...They wont risk an international incident with Alundra."

Aura smiled and gave Kel a hug. “Thanks for trying to cheer me up. You’re too kind to me… well I guess you’re just being you. You’re just someone I have not had the pleasure to have known my entire life to make it worth living. I’m sure it would have been far better if I had stowed away with you back then. But the past is the past. We cannot change it. I’m just happy I found you now… If I hadn’t. I don’t know what I would have done…” Aura paused as she looked into Kel’s eyes, she blushed before giving Kel a kiss on his cheek. Smiling quaintly before going back to sit down as a knocking had come from the door.

"Ah! food! YUM!" Kel walked over to the door and opened it. Seeing the four servants all loaded with food trays Kel grinned. "You guys learn quick. Excellent. I have nothing but praise for this establishment. Go ahead and set it on the bed." Kel stepped back and allowed them to enter. When the food was placed down Kel started digging in. "Hurry up and dig in. the second course will be arriving in a few minutes."

Aura just had to blink… She Never ate this much… and this was the first course?! “Where do you hide all of this on you? I merely only ever ate a single plate… well that’s all I ever was allowed… Wasn’t all that good either…” She mumbled the last bit, as she had to look at it all. Not knowing what half of it was. “Umm… where are the forks and knives?” Yep… definitely not one who was ever shown finger food… Aura had a lot to learn if she had to rough it… But she probably had the best teacher right in front of her…

Eying a single plate, Aura recognized something she had ate one time, secretly when she had snuck out of her room late at night, “May I?” She asked as she motioned over to a plate that was closer to Kel than to her. Sitting on a corner of the bed as she wondered if it would taste as good as it did before. Roasted garlic potatoes, steamed carrots, peas, cauliflower and baby corn as well as some grilled chicken with mushroom sauce. There was also some braised lamb, a few salads, different types of vegetables, chunks of cheese with cheese knives placed beside them and even fresh bun rolls that smelled great. She knew how to cut and butter the rolls and wondered if Kel wanted one as well as she cut two. “Here you go.” Before placing it over onto a plate he was eating off of.

"Mmmkay thanks." Kel said in between bites. "that stuff over there is finger food. just pick it up and eat it. The rest will have utensils on the plates if you'll need them. Here try this." Kel said as he tossed her a small kiwi. "Peel the skin and eat its guts." Finishing the chunk of pork in front of him he asked Aura another question. "So what are you interested in? Maybe you could make a living doing that in Alundra? Bet it'd be a thorn in your Dads side if you became a political liaison between our kingdoms." Kel added jokingly.

Aura thought about it. “Well… I am good at tending gardens and singing… but I usually sang when no one’s around so I really wouldn’t know if I was actually good or not.” She sighed as she looked over more of the food. Picking up some more steamed vegetables and potatoes. Grabbing some gravy and pouring a little bit onto them. She also saw that there were some slices of ham cut and she tried to reach for them, stopping due to that her arm length wasn’t that long to obtain it. So she just ate what she could. Not actually feeling full, even if she was eating more in this one sitting than possibly in her entire life well for meal sake.

A quiet knock came from the door before Kel had a chance to respond. "Its a bit early for round two yet....I'm only half done." Kel said as he got up and answered the door. A young staff member was on the other side. "Sir, pardon the intrusion however there are some...officers here looking around for a girl matching the description of the uh....guest, you brought with you. They are demanding to speak with you." He said in hushed tones. "Alright. I'll speak with them." Kel turned to Aura and simply said "Stay here. Ill be right back. Enjoy your meal in the meantime." Kel followed the man down to the main lobby where three blustering fools were waiting. "YOU! Wheres the princess!?" "Oh hello Steve, Alac. I'm afraid Ive never seen you before though. Princess? I'm afraid I don't know who you mean. Sorry." "Don't play stupid. the girl you came with here." "Oh! Your sister Fia? no wait...You mean Claire don't you? Yes she told me she was with you before jumping on my cock like a hungry slut. I guess your just not man enough to handle her." Kel watched amused as The lead guard was nearly going to lose his top at the comment of his having slept with his sister and lover and decided to push him a little further. "Oh don't look so upset Steve, Alac here has enjoyed both of them as well As well as your ex-wife Marcy. Why do you think she left you? Oh you mean you didn't know? how interesting. Aura was left alone and ate in private. It was just like at home. She was left to her own devices and she actually saw more things there for sustenance than originally. Well seeing as Kel was eating over half of it. She began to eat some more as she moved around and giggled. It was kinda fun that no one was scolding her about having this much food or that she shouldn’t be eating certain things. She had a good amount on a plate now and was actually enjoying it very much before she looked at something else.. “Are those? Oh my… I’ve only seen those once and never got to try them…” Aura moved her plate and picked up a rather dark red fruit, a pomegranate. She had always wanted to try one, but thought that she’d have it after she finished eating. She thought it best to eat as much as she could, seeing as she didn’t know how long it would be for them to have such a luxurious meal like this again… She would also put some of the fruit, cheese and bread into a pouch for later. It could come in handy on the road.

Kel walked back in to his room to find Aura helping herself to the food with a smile of joy on her face. "Enjoying yourself are we? I'm glad. Eat up. We have a long day ahead of us tomorrow. You don't need to worry, I don't think those oafs of your fathers will be poking around here again anytime soon." Kel then sat down and continued to tuck himself in to his meal.

Aura nodded with some of a roll in her mouth. She was almost done, but felt full of just meat and vegetables. “What would be next? I don’t think I can eat anymore of what is in front of me… But thank you anyways. I have never seen or had participated in such a meal before. Is it like this where ever you go? Or just when you spend time within a town?” Aura asked as she picked up a glass and poured some water for herself.

Kel shrugged. "Mostly just when I'm in a town or back home. When I'm on the road I tend to travel light. Though whatever you don't eat we can take with us and eat pretty well for a time." Kel stood up and stretched before heading to the door. Opening it he peaked his head out and raised his voice a little. "Ready for round two up here!" Turning back to Aura he continued. "Here stack up those plates that we finished off. It'll make there job a little easier." Once the food started arriving Kel addressed the person in charge. "You guys can go ahead and skip the third course. I doubt my friend here will have enough room for it. She already looks about to burst as it is."

Aura looked over and piped up.. “I thought the third course was desert? Or is that after the third course? I wouldn’t mind something sweet… I rarely get anything like that…” The last bit was more to herself than to anyone else. She liked this, never had she been in such a happy mood. She didn’t want it to end really.

Kel laughed. "Ok you heard the lady so skip the third course but bring desert." Kel walked back over to the bed and started devouring more food. "This stuffs great. Try the spirally stuff with some of that yellow stuff there melted on top. Its really good."

Aura looked at it and shrugged. Taking some as well as, serving up a bowl of a nice creamy Mushroom soup. It looked really good and she tried some of it. “This is rather delightful. What is it? That over there looks good as well… but do you eat it with that bread too?” Aura asked as she eyed a platter of Spaghetti with garlic bread beside it. “The soup’s really good as well.”

Kel shrugged. "You can if you want. It all winds up in the same place in the end after all." Kel wound up devouring a good two-thirds of the food in front of them making sure to leave a little of everything for Aura before leaning back and sighing contently. "Well. I'm full. You can have the rest If you desire. Dessert should be here in about twenty minutes or so, plenty of time to get my appetite back" Kel grinned. I think its Ice cream."

Aura ate soo much, she almost finished what was left. But she did manage to eat a few more pieces of the garlic bread before the twenty minutes were up and there was a knock at the door. “I hope you’re right… I’ve never had Ice cream… well.. I’ve never had very many desserts at all in my life.” Aura said as she giggled a bit as she began to put everything that no longer had any food on it into a pile for the people to take while bringing the desserts in.

Kel laughed. "If that's the case I should give you a warning. Don't eat it too fast or you'll suffer for it. Its a very vindictive dessert." Kel watched passively as the staff removed the plates and brought in two bowls of ice cream. "Thanks. I think that will be all for the night." He said to them as they left. Turning back to Aura he grinned. "Eat up."

Aura looked at the contents of the bowl and wondered what this white stuff would taste like. She picked up the spoon and took a little bit of it, noticing it was actually a tad hard, yet soft at the same time. She moved the small spoonful to her mouth and placed it into it. She shivered and looked at Kel. But it wasn’t too cold, as she let it melt slightly in her mouth before swallowing the rest. “I now know why you said to be careful. That is rather cold… but Is it actually flavored with vanilla? I’ve only ever seen vanilla beans and got a slight whiff of their scent… but is this what they really taste like? I can’t believe how much I’ve been robbed with tasting all these different things. Thank you, Kel.” She said as she got up and bowed in front of him before sneaking a kiss onto his cheek, as some of her hair flowed over her shoulders. “For everything”

'Wow. Shes really cute.' "Umm...yeah...your welcome." Kel replied shrugging. After devouring the ice cream Kel stood up and stretched a bit more. "Guess its time for bed then. Shall we share? Or would you prefer I sleep in that chair over there?" Kel asked pointing.

“You can have the bed. After all, I’m freeloading off of you at this moment. I wouldn’t want to make you lose sleep for my sake.” She said as she went towards the chair. She did almost always sleep in a chair or on a couch… she never did have a real bed really that she could sleep on, just a large couch, with a slanted back, back home.

Grabbing her cloak, Aura sat down and covered herself as she just sat there. She looked over at Kel and smiled. Closing her eyes as she tried to get comfortable in the chair, which, didn’t really happen due to it not being all that padded or comfortable in the first place…

Kel blinked. "You know....that's wasn't one of the two choices I offered. You should really consider choosing one of those before I choose for you. Do you need them repeated for you?"

"Well, that's not much of a choice... I get the bed either way..." She pouted as she looked at him with one open eye.

"I never said it was much of a choice." Kel replied simply as he leaned back against the wall with his arms crossed over his chest and a arrogant smile on his lips. "It is however the only choice you were presented with so I would act accordingly." Kel flashed her a mischievous smile.

Aura opened her other eye and sighed. “You’re someone that doesn’t negotiate when you set your mind to it… do you..” She said, as she got up and walked over to the bed, taking off her shoes. Then Aura removed the main dress, revealing the slip beneath before going under the covers. Not saying a word.

"I'm open to negotiations and compromises.....somewhat. Just not when it comes to those under my protection and care." Kel shrugged before disrobing and climbing in to the opposite side of the bed. "Suit yourself. I'll stay on this side of the bed so you needn't worry. Goodnight Aura. See you in the morning."

"Good night to you as well, Kel." Aura said as she moved some of the covers to cover her shoulder's completely as she drifted off into sleep. But sleep wasn't kind to Aura.. she had a dream, no a nightmare and it dealt with her running from a dark shadow as it shot her with some dark fire of sorts. A maniacal laugh rang out before Aura woke up, as thunder rang outside, sweating and sitting straight up after being asleep for a good four hours. Breathing heavily, she turned to see if she did indeed wake Kel up with her slight tossing and turning?

Kel had been lying awake since the storm started. He loved the sound of the rain and thunder as he found it strangely soothing to him. When Aura awoke with a start he had his eyes closed. 'Lie back and listen to the storm Aura,' He thought to himself. 'the sounds will ease you back to slumber...'

Aura tensed again when another thunderclap rung out as she looked in Kel’s direction once more. Shivering from her dream and how fierce the storm sounded… Aura layed back down, but this time, inched her way nearer to Kel… until she could touch him. Hesitating for only a few seconds, the storm made her cling to him for safety before she loosened her grip in hopes that she hadn’t woken him, pulling back before cringing again from the loud sounds. She kept her hold on him as her eyes stayed tightly shut during the storm.

'Okay...this is too good of an opportunity to pass up.' Still pretending to be asleep Kel rolled over towards Aura and threw an arm over her shoulder. 'Oooooo her skin is so soft....I like this.'

Aura nearly jumped, if she could have that is, as Kel actually moved… He must move when touched… man did she feel embarrassed as she lightly struggled to remove the arm without waking him. But a bright flash of lightening and a loud thunder clap made her attempt futile… she lunged her head right into his chest as she mumble whined into his chest before looking into his face as hers was a bright red. Looking back down, she felt him breathing and got a little close. He was very warm, and the arm wasn’t all bad around her… Plus, the mild bolts of lightning also lit up Kel’s face just enough for her to see some hidden features that made him more attractive. Blushing a bit more, Aura finally settled down and laid there and got closer enough so that she was pressed up against his chest and her eyes began to flutter closed.

Kel grinned inwardly to himself. 'Too easy.' He waited a few moments before pretending to shift into a more comfortable position and wrapping his arms around her in a light hug. 'She really is cute, and she seems to like me a little. This could have some potential when were on the road together.' With that thought and the rain continuing to pour down Kel drifted off in to a peaceful slumber.

Aura awoke to the first birds chirping and looked to see that Kel was still somewhat holding onto her, but just barely.

Moving slowly, as she was still a bit tired and full from last night. She somewhat smiled before moving to the bathroom to do some certain businesses. After that, she started a bath and undressed. Moving into the moderately warm water and sat in there to soak. She loved the warmth as she lounged in there. Humming to herself as she began to clean herself up.

Kel awoke gradually. The previous nights events flowing into his mind. Sitting up Kel stretched his arms out as he looked around. 'Doors still locked. She must be in the bathroom.' Kel had a wicked idea and he began grinning. Pulling out the gauntlet Kel whispered an all to familiar spell to himself. "Tal-Eth" He then walked in to the bathroom all the while giving no clue to Aura that he was even awake. 'Now the fun part. 'Dol Ort Eld-Lem' This one he had invented himself a few years back. 'Passion' as it was called in the old tongues of Magic would normally induce a state of acute Lust in a nearby targeted female. but in Milder versions would merely heighten physical stimulation. It was this weaker version that he casted on Aura before standing behind her naked form and placing his hands on her bare shoulders. Before she had time to react to his touch he began massaging her shoulders and neck.

Aura almost jumped, but the sensation was too good as she almost slipped further into the water. Feeling definitely good as she closed her eyes and leaned back somewhat. Smiling as her body felt all tingly, Aura moved a little bit as her neck was slightly just above the water’s surface. Moving back up as her chin hit the water, Aura was now sitting up and her wet, and bare, chest was exposed to the air. A slight shiver came forth, but Aura soon slid back into the water slowly as she massaging sensation kept coming.

But the sensation was too good for her to move in objection… “Kel… isn’t it improper to come into a bath when a lady’s bathing?” Aura said as she moved some more as her eyes began to close a bit again. “But further more….” Aura began before feeling his hands begin to move lower, making her body jut out of the water as she fully leaned back. “Where did you learn this in the first place?”

Kel chuckled softly his hands never losing there rhythm as he answered. "To the first, I AM your best friend aren't I? I'm sure there's a clause in the rules somewhere saying its okay for a lady's best friend to join her so long as they don't make her feel uncomfortable. You don't feel uncomfortable do you?" Kel asked with a slightly mocking tone in his voice. After all they both knew she was enjoying this greatly. "To your second....It's a combination of a spell I developed a number of years ago....and good old fashioned technique. You'd be surprised how often it helps to know how to ease stiff muscles." Kel moved his hands up and down her spine easing her muscles as he went.

Aura looked up and noticed that Kel… wasn’t above her, that’s when the worried look came across her face. “Kel? Where are? Oooh.. lower. That’s niiiiiicccceee.” Aura grinned as she moved more into Kel’s arms as his hands were working their own magic on her.

Kel moved his arms around her waist and brought them up to her chest. 'If she enjoyed the back wait till she feels this....' Kel then gently traced over her skin, just barely grazing her exposed nipples as his mouth found the spot where Auras neck and collarbone met. "You really are very attractive Aura. Kel let go of the 'Stealth' spell and as he became visible again he placed his lips firmly on hers and kissed deeply. He continued moving his hands as the kiss extended a few more moments. Finally he removed his hands and broke the kiss before standing up and stepping back. "You should get out soon or you'll prune. Besides, we have a long day ahead of us." Kel said as he smiled and headed back in the bedroom to dress.

Aura opened her eyes and looked to see Kel just leave the bathroom. She smiled and touched her lips, giggling at the fact that she had indeed experienced her first real kiss. Aura then finished her bath and got out, wrapping a towel over her still naked body and began to dry her hair, moving towards her dresses slip and took it out of the bathroom. She looked in and made sure Kel was dressed enough for her to enter as she covered her eyes just enough, being polite and all, and headed to the bed. She then bent over to grab her things and finished drying her hair. “Thank you for that.. it felt nice as I’ve been tense far too much over the past week. I just hope that no one is still on my trail. But I think. No, I know I’ll be safe if I stay with you. I just feel it with in my very soul. Like fate has something to do with it.” Aura said, almost babbling, as she was happy and still, if only just a little bit, under Kel’s Spell.

Kel rolled his eyes in annoyance. Not from Aura exactly...it was just..."I've never put much stock in fate or destiny. Its willpower alone that guides our lives paths, Not some celestial woman with a thing for weaving." Kel laughed bitterly. "When the chips are down and its succeed or perish, I cannot, WILL not fail. So If its a battle between my will and fates will? what contest could there be? Because I will not stop until i succeed."

Aura blinked and didn’t know what to say, so she just did what she could and that was finish getting dressed… Aura sat on the bed and slipped off the towel and placed her under garments on as well as the dress slip she was wearing. Placing her main dress and then gathered what little things she had, as she put away the towel that she had used back into the bathroom.

Putting her hair up with a ribbon, while sitting on the bed again, Aura turned to Kel and simply asked. “Will we head out now? Or should we still be cautious?”

Kel raised an eyebrow at Auras causal display of her nude body as she dressed in front of him but didn't say anything. 'Hmmm...Is she still aroused? The spell should've warn off already. I doubt its because she knows i saw everything she has already, She was a bit out of it earlier. Eh whatever. Not like I don't enjoy the view. Auras cute.' When She turned and asked him if they should leave right away Kel didn't answer immediately. Instead he gathered up his things in to his shoulder bag, pulled his cloak on and then tossed the shoulder bag over his shoulder before leaning over Aura and kissing her gently on the cheek and lips. THEN he answered her. "Yep. Let's go. Suns up and daylights wasting. We should reach the north shores in about 3 days. from there its another days travel to Aludra by boat." Kel grinned at her before bolting upright and snapping his fingers. "That's right I nearly forgot. Put that ring on. Your my sister until we get outside the city gates. Just.....Try to make sure no one gets a good look at your face..."

Aura blinked, blushed and then touched her lips slightly as a small smile covered her face and her eyes closed for a few seconds. “By the way…” Aura said before she used both her arms to grab Kel by the neck and pulled him down to her level before landing a kiss straight onto his lips, holding it for a few moments before letting go and looking right into his blue eyes. “…What’s my name oh dear brother.” She said as she fluttered her eyelashes.

Kel blinked before returning the kiss passionately enjoying the fact she was kissing him back with equal enjoyment and desire.. "Umm...I don't know." He kissed her again. "What do you think sounds nice?" And again... "Does Katrina sound nice? I dunno I think it sounds kinda nice." And again, this time slipping his tongue into her mouth and toughing hers with it for just an instant before retreating back to his own mouth. "Yeah that sounds nice, My beautiful sister. With her back now laying on the bed, Aura began to giggle before she just fluttered her eyes again. She didn’t mind this. She was enjoying it after all… Even if Kel didn’t believe in fate, if he hadn’t met her when young, they never would have met… or would have met up again. She couldn’t imagine them both meeting the day before as mere coincidence.

Aura let him go and instead used her hands to move over his chest and have the other touch his face. “You sure… Maybe we need to think it over a little bit…” She said as she moved a bit up and got his lips once more. Falling back as she felt him move lower and hold her back.

Kel laughed as he moved on top of Aura. "Who needs to think at a moment like this?" Kel continued kisses her mouth for a while longer before breaking the kiss and leaning back so she could see him easily. "I am so glad we aren't really related though....If we we were It would be very improper to do...this..." Kel leaned down and kissed her lips then trailed his mouth over her skin to her jawline and placed another kiss there, then down to her throat and again kissed Auras skin. Kel looked up at her and grinned as he moved his head to her collarbone and shoulder kissing her skin the whole way. he then pulled her dress down just a little and kissed the skin leading to her breasts as he pulled the dress down further exposing her wonderful breasts. he then placed his mouth on her right breast and kissed, licked and suckled on her nipple while his other hand rubbed and caressed her left.

Aura felt Kel move every inch as he went down and began to suckle her breast, but when she looked outside the window, she could tell that the sun was getting higher in the sky and that there was sound coming from below their room and outside the inn itself.“Umm.. Katrina works…” She said as she pulled Kel up more, she recovered her breast and used her elbows to prop her up. Looking over at the clock, Aura then moved back to be facing Kel “Besides, it’s becoming just past nine… We should go before the market’s fully open and the guards begin doing full rounds. The less people equal, the less guards that will stop us… Or so I think that will be the case.” Aura said as she gave Kel a quick kiss on the lips before wanting up, though he’d have to move for her to do this fully.

Kel sighed before getting up off the bed. "When your right your right dear sister." Offering Aura his hand to help her to a standing position He kissed her quickly on her neck. "All right. Grab your things and lets go."

Aura stood up as she smiled back at Kel, grabbed her things and let him lead her to the door. Placing the ring that was around her neck onto her right ring finger, Aura removed the chain and placed it in her bag. Seeing as she no longer had anything to hang off from it. “So, where are we headed? One of the exit gates? Or are we going to use a more indirect approach?”

Kel nodded. "I think we should use the Main exit gates. Slipping through a wall might draw some unwanted attention." Kel led the way out of the inn making sure to stop and pay the innkeeper VERY well for his stay. "Keep your head down." He whispered to Aura as he led her through the marketplace to the southernmost gate.

Aura kept her head down and covered as she walked beside Kel like how a sister would. She always made sure to keep her head low just a bit not to have her face low enough not to be seen, but high enough to not look suspicious. Passing the central square and seeing a man now chained in the gallows… “I wonder what he did to have that happen?”

The south gate loomed in front of them as it looked like the soldiers were doing id checks as every hooded figure and woman was being checked over to see if they were the runaway princess or not. A drawing of her was on one side as they got closer… but what made Aura almost turn around on her heal was one thing… ‘Galhoul… it can’t be…’ Aura whispered as she grabbed Kel’s arm… “Can we come back later? Well when he leaves? He’ll catch me faster than you can make a bowl of ice cream disappear…” Aura said as she was definitely worried. But noticed that he was scolding one of the knights and then disappeared in a puff of smoke… “We should leave… now, before he comes back. He’s the one I’m running from. My father’s gone paranoid as of late... and tried to wed me off to that vile old dark arch mage…” Aura finished as she kept her grip on Kel’s arm for emotional support… She didn’t want to be there anymore… and it showed greatly.

Kel hadn't liked the look of the man Aura seemed to fear. The feel of Death clung to him too tightly. 'A necromancer? Here?' A memory leaped into his mind unbidden.

Kel was sitting behind a desk, his arcane tutor lecturing him in its practice. "As you know all magics’ are grouped in to eight spheres. They are of course: Abjurection - protection spells, Transmutation - transformation spells, Conjuration - summoning spells, Divination - Information spells, Enchantment - compulsion and charm spells, Illusion and of course Evocation - Elemental and Energy spells, The last three of which you show the most aptitude for young Kel. Now these schools are-" "-But sir." Kel interrupted much to his tutors chagrin. "You only listed seven. What’s the eighth?" "Eighth?" "You said there were eight spheres of magic. But you only listed seven. Abjurection, Transmutation, Conjuration, Divination, Enchantment, Illusion and Evocation. That’s seven. So what’s the eighth?" "Ah yes...quite right, yes your right that’s only seven...the eighth is..." Kel's tutor suddenly found it hard to talk and Kel had to wait a few moments for him to compose himself before he got his answer. "The eighth sphere is a dark dangerous thing. Necromancy deals with life, death un-life and the transfer of life energies in general. No one should be able to command the forces of life and death." "Why wouldn’t you want to be able to heal someone or keep a loved one from dying?" Kel asked honestly confused. "Because it would never stop there." "I don’t understand." "Power corrupts, Kel. And mastery over life and death is the ultimate power. Practitioners of Necromancy....Necromancers tend to start off with only the best of intentions, but always, always, always...they end up as dark cancers, diseases that take root in the land and spread death and disease wherever they touch. They taste power and develop a thirst for more.....That’s why the Highbourne Council eventually outlawed its practice, and have its practitioners hunted down."

"Your right....we should leave...now." 'My father and the Highbourne Council will want to hear of this when we get back to Alundra....A necromancer is bad enough, but Aura mentioned that he’s in cohorts with her father. He might spark off another war.' Kel led Aura to the gate where the guards were standing. "Please stand aside. I am Kel Firdorn and this is my sister Katrina. We are on our way back to Alundra and I ask that you don’t cause us any delay.”

The two guards looked at each other and were hesitant.. “Umm.. I’m.. Sorry..” said the one that had been scolded by Galhoul “But it’s by order of the king that we check every female entering and leaving the city… Not even you are exempt at the moment..." The more daring of the two said. “Please, miss… Er Princess of Firedorn, Remove your cowl so we can make sure you’re not the one we’re looking for and enable us to let you two pass through… I don’t like thi-” “Shut up. Miss, please remove the hood… Before I must insist with helping you remove it…” The stern one said as he looked over at Kel. “You’d best believe… We don’t want an international incident.. SO cooperation is quite possibly your only option right now… Or must we get the king’s representative to come and take care of this?” He said as he was definitely referring to Galhoul himself… “No, don’t get him involved… He scares the shit out of me..” The other just glared.. as the other backed off… “Please, no more delays. We’re busy and don’t want to deal with all of this. It’s bad enough as it is right now with King’s adviser here at the moment…” The more stern one said as he looked over at the other guard. Taking back a stand as they kept blocking both of aura’s and Kel’s path outward…

“And just what did you need me for?! I’m making sure those oafs at the gates actually DO their job!” Galhoul said as he was almost tempted to torture the squire that had called for him. “b-b-b-but sire… There was a lady here that fit the description. I was cleaning the room after she and her escort left and found this…” The young boy said as he held up a hair pin. “It’s the royal crest, correct? I tried the other soldiers… but they thought it was a fake… That’s why I called you to make sure” The boy finished as he handed the hairpin to the dark mage. “This… heh… hahaha… HAHAHAHAHA So… She IS here… that dumb vixen. Who is she with? I’d like to use his corpse for a few experimentation's just for the fact that he thought he could get near my newest property…" Galhoul boomed as he looked at the young squire.

“S- sire…. They were headed towards the central court. Perhaps moving towards one of the four gates? I’m sorry I can’t help you anymore.”

This was when Galhoul stared at the boy and made quite a small yet fearful smile. “Don’t worry lad. I believe I should give you something for your help. I believe this would do well in terms of how ‘much’ you helped me. Pul-Ral Sol Get him out of here, and give him this. I don’t need this piece of flesh that still clings to it’s mother’s teat to get the thought to turncoat on me…” Galhoul said to two soldiers, handing over a small purse of coins, before puffing out of the place to check each gate. Starting with the Western gate and working his way clockwise.

Kel sighed. 'Lemistio. That should deal with her appearance.' "Go ahead and take off your hood Katrina. It's not like its not glaringly obvious we're twins or anything."

Aura looked right at Kel and shrugged, lowering the hood and looking right at the two soldiers. She just watched as both looked from her to Kel and back again. Shaking their heads in disbelief and blinking… “I have never seen a set of twins before that identical and not be the same sex…” “You said it and not me… Ehhhem… You may pass… But just to be known. There are blockades throughout this area… If you don’t want this trouble again, it’d best if you steer clear of the main cities and ports.” The stern one said as he backed off and let the two through. Grumbling at the waste of time of this stupid blockade…

“Can I put my hood back up? What did you do anyways?” Aura asked as they were well enough away from the gate to talk openly again.

Kel nodded. "I cast a light Illusion charm on you. Made it look like you had the same color eyes and hair as me. I didn't want to overdo it though, If we looked to much alike it would've raised suspicions. Come on. Lets get off the road." Kel said as he led Aura in to the nearby woods.

Aura nodded and giggled to herself, following Kel as they both entered the very open woods, well as in the canopy was rather open to allow light in., and began to walk by Kel’s side instead of following him after a while. Taking off her cloak, and draping it over her right arm, Aura smiled and looked around more. “This is a very beautiful place. Thanks Kel, again for everything.” Aura said as she leaned her head onto Kel’s arm as she held his hand.

“So it was a Firedorn was it? Good thing that inn keeper finally talked after some of you and your fellow soldier’s subtle influence…” Galhoul said to a captain after being informed that it was a Firedorn that had been using the suite that Aura’s hair pin had been found in. “Quickly! Tell all guards to detain, politely, any Firedorn male with the royal crested ring on them. Tell the other gate keepers this as well.” Galhoul almost boomed the last part as he was now heading towards the southern gate…

"No problem. I did promise I'd rescue you all those years ago didn't I?" Kel leaned over and kissed her forehead. "We should move faster though. It wont be too much longer before someone figures out you slipped the net meant to trap you."

"What do you mean you let a Firedorn through? Twin sister? I don't remember there being twins in that royal family!!!"Galhoul yelled as he grabbed the stuttering soldier by the throat and had a menacing sneer on his face. "You have just become my anger outlet..." Galhoul snickered as she kept the man in his clutches as he dragged him out of town.. the other soldier left to pray for his comrades soul. Though, that didn't matter when a necromancer was involved...

As they reached a Willow tree, Galhoul threw the man's body away. The soldier stumbled and inched away from where the dark mage was before trying to turn tail and run. But the mage just smirked and said one simple word. "Vexamn..." After that, the soldier turned as he saw just what was now making a strange sound. Stumbling backwards, the soldier tried to get out of the way but screamed in terror and pain as five black wispy tendrils flowed from Galhoul's thumb and fingertips of his right hand. Twirling and twisting right towards him before piercing through his light armor and into his chest. Black streaks began to flow through the man's skin before he looked like he was becoming prune like... before the tendrils retracted and went back to the one who cast it.

Almost toppling over in loss of breath, Galhoul smirked at what was left of the poor soldier... a husk of a once young man now twisted and deranged. Looking nothing short of non human... What a way to die...

"Start searching the countryside... they couldn't have gone too far in this short of time..." He said as she was now back in town and looking at a group of soldiers that had accumulated from the sheer screams that emanated from outside the village. "I want her found NOW! Or I'll do that to all of you next time..." That made people move. As it was a bad thing to get on the bad side of a necromancer...

A sharp chill went through Aura's body after she had begun to smile from Kel's kiss. Shivering uncontrollably as she had a bad feeling... "Kel... How far is it to your kingdom again? I think we need to get out of here... like now..." She asked as the mood was definitely killed by her freak shiver attack...

Kel turned to look at her. "A couple days....like a said a few minutes ago." When Auras only response was a deeper frown Kel asked "Whats up? Hear something?" Kel looked around but didn't see anything unusual or out of place. "Come on dearest princess, the last time i came this way there was an old cottage. We can stay the night there safely"

[Akira Avelon]

“No… but I felt like someone was walking over my grave…” Aura said as she looked at Kel… “But yeah. Maybe us stopping and waiting it out a bit for things to quiet down might be best…. I’m sure they’ll be stocking up on guards and the like within all cities and small towns on the way towards Alundra…” Aura said as she held Kel close before letting go and smiling, running a short distance and said. “Well, come on. I don’t want to be sticking around here and get caught? Or do you? Tag” She said as she had come back and tapped his arm “You’re it” before running back a ways and giggling. She wanted to forget what was going on, and playing something so trivial seemed like something she had wished to do when very young.

Kel raised an eyebrow and then spoke quietly to himself. "First she's nervous and wants to hide out, and now she wants to play. All of my experience with women and they still confuse the hell out of me." Kel shrugged slightly before chasing off after her. It wasn't long before Kel caught up to her and grabbed her around the waist as he spun her up against a nearby tree. "Well. That was easy. Whats my prize?"

Aura batted her eyelashes before moving rather close to Kel’s face. “What would you like?” She said as she quickly pecked him on the lips. But sighed as she felt another chill. This time from the wind. “You know… Let’s pick this up when we get to that cottage. Better be safe than sorry… Besides. I think you tagged me.” She winked as she kissed him again. This time, pushing up against him as she leaned most of her weight into his body, making it last longer.

Kel pulled Aura close as he enjoyed the taste of Auras lips. "Those eyes, those lips, that smile and that perfect body of yours? Come now. You honestly expect me to run from that?" Kel asked after the kiss had ended. Kel frowned. "It's northwest of us. A couple hours away tops, but....we'd need to leave the safety of the woods to get there."

“North west, huh?” Aura smiled as she kissed him again as she got out of Kel’s grip. Touching his face before backing off… “Well, in that case. Tag you’re it… And last one to the edge of the woods has to cook dinner for the other!” She said as she turned and ran towards the north-western direction of the forest, while zig zagging through the trees as she giggled and laughed. She had never had this much fun in all her life! “We’ll figure out how our trip outside the forest will be when we get there. It would have happened eventually…” Aura said as she yelled back as she kept going. Getting a head start as she hugged a tree to check just where Kel was.. or if he was indeed following her?

Kel watched as Aura bolted. 'Well at least shes sensible to take the main path...' chuckling to himself Kel raced down in another direction. One a bit more...Direct. 'But then, whoever said I was sensible?' Racing along at full speed Kel managed to cut Aura off ahead of her path. Seeing when she turned back to look and see if he was following her or not, Kel snuck silently up behind her and wrapped his arms around her waist pulling her away from the tree, and kissed her neck just under the jawline. "I believe, that's twice I've caught you now fair princess."

Aura giggled and laughed as Kel had grabbed her from behind, but she liked that he kept surprising her. "Maybe, but I know you're liking this as much as I am. I've never had this much fun in my entire life." She smiled as she glanced sideways at Kel as she didn't mind having him holding her like this... "Though... you're going to have to let me go sometime.. Or are you just going to hold me like this for the rest of the day? I don't mind.. but I do know we got to get going and find that cottage... So? Shall we finish this little race?" She said as she slipped out of his light grasp and turned to face him. Her green eyes sparkling in the patchy sunlight as she smiled again. "Tag" saying as she touched him, kissing his cheek. "Catch me if you can. I'm not gonna look back this time!" She giggled as she ducked away and started running through the trees yet again.

Kel laughed and gave her a ten count before chasing after her. About a mile later he caught up to her. "That's three dear." He said as he slowed his pace to stay in step beside her. "I think we've established that tag isn't your game. perhaps strip blackjack would be more enjoyable? In the meantime though....I have a race to let you win." Kel then waited a half a moment allowing Aura to be a single step ahead of him when they burst out of the woods.

Aura laughed as she turned around and grabbed her thighs as she tried to get her breath back after that bout of running. She stopped as she looked up and saw that whey were at the western road and that there was a lot of ground to cover before they hit anything that wasn't open space. "So, we run through those fields?"

"Sorta....those fields go on for miles and miles. Where we're going lies along a small out cropping from that road. I don't think anyone uses it anymore though." Kel set off at a brisk walk, not yet winded from the run before.

Aura ran to catch up to Kel and then slowed down as she walked beside Kel. "So... is it a deserted cottage? I wouldn't want to intrude on anyone if there was..." Aura said as she gave Kel a quick kiss before looking forward. "I can't wait to see your country. I've read some books that my father forgot about and it says it's a very lovely place."

"Yeah. It is. Wait till you reach the capital, Carmina Gadelica, or The Eternal City, Dol Dona. No offense Aura, but by comparison, your fathers kingdom is nothing but a collection of hovels and dirt." Kel said as they walked. "Tall towers that reach to the heavens, Ships that fly through the sky, An entire city hidden within a waterfall. But still....To me the place is stale. Adventure lies outside Alundra, and so I often find myself wandering."

[Akira Avelon]

"Within a waterfall? Can we just go see it? That sounds like it looks beautiful. I personally... have never seen a waterfall. I've heard they're very breathtaking to behold for the first time." Aura said as she smiled. "Anything else I should know about other than your country would take me a good couple of years to see all it's wonders... or so I think to get to know them all fully. But other than being more magically and technologically advanced than here. What else does it have? I know peace and a fair rule.. but what else does set it apart from anywhere else you've been to and seen?" Aura said as she was now asking things about Kel personally as well as his home country.

"Hmmm....Well....everything is just more...Alive really. Plants are healthier, The air is clearer, things like that." Kel shrugged. "What can I really say? Alundra's my home, and so it winds up being the measure on which everywhere else is judged. And everywhere else I've been has found wanting. But I gotta say this, When I can get the chance I want to travel beyond the mountains. No one knows whats out there."

"But, I've heard that it's almost impossible to get over the mountains... and if anyone has gotten over them, they've never came back... You think that's wise? Aura asked as she was now a little worried for Kel's safety if he actually ventured towards that goal. But she hoped that she'd be around to be beside him if he did... She just didn't feel safe not at his side. But he was and is the only she did have now.. She wasn't going to loose him.

Kel shrugged. "Wise? No. Not particularly. Wise would be staying home when I'm supposed to and not sneaking in to a party in a kingdom that hates me. Wise would also be to not abduct a princess I've only barely met on a whim and risk all out war with previously mentioned kingdom if I'm caught in the process. Wise would be staying in Alundra and taking my fathers place when he abdicates the thrown. But then frankly, I don't put much stock in wisdom. I do what I want and go where my heart leads me. Its what I've always done and its what I'll always do."

Aura frowned a bit at what Kel said. "So helping me is basically just a whim of yours?" She said as she tried to figure out what he really meant, reading too much into what Kel tried to say...

Aura looked away a bit as she viewed the scenery, looking around at the kingdom her father ruled... it may have been plain... but it was far better than her just looking at stone walls all day. "I guess I could say this place is nice... well nicer than what I'm used to.. as you saw what it was like with in my father's castle" Aura tried to make herself cheerful as she looked back at Kel, fake smile and all on her face. She was still perplexed and didn't want to delve more into that subject of Kel's personality... he was as free as the wind... and she had been literally grounded all her life. She wondered just how it felt to be as 'free' as Kel was?

"I wouldn't say a whim exactly. I'm keeping a promise made to a cute girl I befriended on a whim years ago." Kel laughed. "Don't worry, I don't expect you to understand my motivations. I don't always understand them myself." After that the conversation died off and they walked in silence for a time before they came upon the cabin. "Doesn't look like anyone's home.....be careful anyways."

Aura nodded as she stayed behind Kel as they entered. "So, do you know who lives here?" Aura asked as they went in further. "They have lousy taste in color... Who decorates in oranges and pinks?" Aura said as have the tacky decor made her sick...

"Yes. Well I think so. I admit its been awhile since I've been here. She might not live here anymore." Kel took her by the hand and led her to a side door. After taking a small knife out of his belt and jimmying the lock open Kel stepped back and opened the door. Peaking his head in he looked around before gesturing to Aura and walking in. "No ones home." Kel said finally after searching the place thoroughly.

Aura stepped in and didn't look at the decor at all. She had enough from just looking in from the windows. "So, I guess we wait for the night then... What is the chef going to serve for launch?" Aura giggled as she went over to stand beside Kel and hug him around his chest.

Kel laughed and tossed her his shoulder bag. "Whatever you find in there. Don't worry. It's bigger on the inside then it is on the outside. That reminds me though. I caught you three times. Whats my prize for all that hard work?"

Aura raised a brow. "You're joking right? You want me to expect you have a full turkey or something the like in this little thing?" She said as she waved the bag a little. trying to get over something so absurd. "Even if you know magic.. that's impossible to do.. And I don't care what you say.. It can't be true. I bet a night with you I'm right! I'll even let you fondle my breasts I'm so sure." She said soo sure of herself as she tossed the bag back at Kel.

Kel shrugged. "So we're clear though, if I win we sleep together, as in sex? or what? obviously if I lose i sleep on the floor." Kel shrugged. "Yeah your probably right about not having a whole turkey in there." Kel opened the bag and started pulling out items. "Lets see....one...two...three cans of dried fruit, one...two mango's, a dozen plums and.....one and two....turkeys. Yep you were right. I didn't have one. I had two in the bag. Still not even half empty though And i know for a fact that ham from last nights in there as well as two bottles of your fathers best wine, but we gotta make this all last till we get back to Alundra. I don't think we should be going back in to any towns."

Aura went dead silent before walking out into another room and sat down, covering her face as she knew she just walked into a situation where she had just placed both feet into her mouth, figuratively speaking, before looking straight up and went to ask. "Just what do you mean my father's best wine? Did you come visit the castle and not come see-"

Kel raised his hand in interruption. "I swung by the castle earlier. And I DID go try and check on you. You weren't there. It was in fact on my way back from the castle that I happened to have you run into me....twice."

[Akira Avelon]

Aura felt stupid... She was jumping to conclusions... and she sighed before going up to Kel... "well... Lets eat. It's a few hours before sunset.... We can eat, maybe have a shower after all that running we did... and then..." Aura paused... "We'll go to bed and you can fondle my chest to your hearts desire..."

Kel laughed and waved his hand dismissively. "You made that bet impulsively and without thinking. I dissolve you from your wager. Your to do only what you want to in my presence. Just try to think before speaking next time." Kel then took a small portable cooker out of his bag, set it up on a nearby counter and began preparing dinner for the two of them.

Aura shook her head. "I made a bet... I have to live by it... You get to do what you wish to me for the night. Well apart from sex.. I'm not comfortable about that... as I still don't know you fully... But I have no qualms about sleeping in the same room, let alone bed with you. Just be gentle with my breasts.. You became a tad hard when in the bath tub..." Aura said as she blushed. Pulling off the cloak and sat down, but stood up when she had almost sat on a cat. "Epp, I'm sorry.. OUCH.. nasty cat!" Aura cried out the last part as she pulled her hand away from the cat as the cat had connected a swat at it when she had tried to see if it was alright. Holding her hand as the scratches the cat inflicted were now slightly bleeding. Watching the cat run out and through an open window... "Must be a stray..." Aura said as she went to sit beside Kel, making sure that there wasn't any surprises on this chair as well.

Kel was cooking one of the turkeys and some of the ham, as well as letting some of the potatoes and vegetables heat up. "Here. Cut these up. They're going to go into the stew." Kel said as he passed her some carrots and a knife. "Our bet be damned, I don't want you doing anything you don't want to do."

Aura dropped the subject and took the carrots and knife as she began to cut off the ends and then half them, standing up and leaning over as she then tied her hair back so it wouldn't get in the way. Returning to chopping as she began to cut the carrots in a medallion style cut. Nice and thin and yet, not too thick, just right for stew making as she kept going and was done in no time.

Kel continued working on the stew until it was finished, only pausing long enough to grab some beef broth and bandages from his bag. "Put these on. Your hands bleeding." he said as he tossed her the bandages. "Well. Its not quite gourmet...but its better then most road side fair you'll find." Kel said as he handed Aura a bowl of the Piping hot food. Kel was about to take a bite when he paused. "I hope you find it palatable to you. I'm usually content with just warm so...."

Aura thanked Kel for the bandages and tied one around her hurt hand. "Thank you, Kel. For the food and the bandages." She said as she held the bowl in her hands and began to eat. It was warm, nice and rather filling. She didn't need a second bowl after finishing her first. "Mmmmm... that WAS good. Kel, you're a natural chef." Aura said as she smiled and took her plate to find someplace to wash them. Leaving Kel alone for a moment as she looked for the Kitchen and finding it, she only needed to do was fill up the wash basin to clean the plates.

Kel laughed. "Thanks. Even if you don't mean it." Finishing up his meal he poured what little was left into the small container that had had broth in it and packed it and the rest of the unused food away. "Ok so we ate, what was next on your to do list?"

Coming back up from the second dunk and now completely soaked. Aura laughed. "That's what you get for pushing a lady into water. No matter if they're wearing a white top that goes see-through when wet or not." Saying as she splashed some water into Kel's direction as Aura was having some fun. The cool water also made her more alert and she felt mildly better from this morning

Kel grinned then dived under the water. The cool water felt nice and so he didn't mind getting wet. Swimming around behind Aura he reached his arms around her waist and quickly pulled her pants down around her ankles before coming up for air and grabbing her around her waist. "They were wet. so they probably need to come off so they can dry." Kel whispered softly in her ear as he trailed one hand up the inside of her thigh while the other held Aura close.

Aura's mouth went wide, but soon her body leaned into Kel's as he was motioning that one hand quite close to her crotch. He definitely knew what he was doing... "Kel... Are you trying to seduce me?" She said teasingly, knowing full well he was. "Though, my shirts rather taught now thanks to your initial dunking of me..." Aura chuckled as she stayed in Kel's grasp. She didn't mind and she knew if Kel was this mischievous, he had to be fine now.

Moving one arm up to stroke Kel's head and face, Aura let him go further if he did so wish, but was it alright to do this out in the open? She thought about it and decided that Kel would have better judgment. Both were still being hunted down and Aura knew that Galhoul would stop at nothing until he had her... dead or alive. He wouldn't care about either really... as long as he had his 'trophy' that the king had given him.

Kels hand slid between her legs rubbing his fingers between her nether regions lips while his mouth found her neck. "And that my dear, is what you get to look foreword to tonight." Kel let go of aura and stepped away from her. "Come on we should probably get out of the water now. Though this river runs vaguely north so we can follow it for a ways."

Aura almost fell backwards, though keeping her balance, as she bent over and pulled her very much now soaked pants back up and followed Kel down the river northward. She moved to take Kel's hand as she was keeping close. Being soaked to the bone was nice to a point, but the cool breeze that was now blowing from the direction of a small woods further up made Aura shiver. "So," Aura began "We'll be resting for the night in there and then continue at day break? Shall we gather wood while we walk? Or does your bag also have fire wood stocked up in it as well?" The last part made her giggle, not noticing that something was following them...

Kel walked along with Aura, the cool breeze feeling nice. "Where?" Kel asked. "You mean the woods?"

"Yes silly." Aura said as she hit him gently on the back as she hurried a little bit and started walking backwards as she faced Kel, walking in front of him. "Where else would we go?"

Kel shrugged. "No idea. That's why I asked." Kel frowned slightly, believing he heard something. "Come on. We've got time enough before dark. Lets keep going." Kel continued walking though he kept his ears open for any strange noises.

"Alright. lets try and find a good spot then in there to settle down for the night..."Aura smiled and turned so that she was once again walking beside Kel. "If we settle down that is." She giggled as she held onto Kel's arm and moved so that she was almost to the point of actually hugging him around chest.

But, as the woods came with in a good mile of them, Aura stopped as she had heard a twig break behind them. Stiffening as she held onto Kel for reassurance. Moving in front of him slightly as he'd probably push her behind him to keep her safe from harm if it was indeed needed.

"You heard it too then..." Kel whispered softly. As he drew his knife slowly out of his belt he caught the sight of a sudden movement on the edge of his vision followed by a loud splash as he spun around to see who was trailing them. Seeing nothing Kel walked up to the edge of the stream cautiously and peered over the edge, However he could see nothing in the clear blue water. "Where'd you go?" Kel asked quietly under his breath.

Aura stepped up beside Kel and looked in over Kel's shoulder... "See anything?" before standing back up and looking around some more. She saw something further up stream... "What's that? Just next to the bank.. wait.. it moved..." Aura said as she saw that the thing was kinda small. She saw that it was coming closer, as she was a few feet in front of Kel now. But... it wasn't alone... "Uh... Kel... THERE!" Aura yelled, and pointed in the direction it was in, as she saw it get closer to her. Missing the fact that two were beside her legs and about to grab them.

"I got it." Kel said as he launched himself towards the blue creature with his knife extended. It was gone before Kel reached it. 'Damn. to damn fast.' "Where'd you go ya little bastard?" Kel asked while he looked around on the ground for signs of the creature.

Aura watched Kel, as she looked around. Finally noticing the things near her legs, but before she could call out, they grabbed her and the one that had been distracting Kel jumped up and gave the final push for Aura to fall backwards. Slashing at her shirt as she finally got out a scream. Another also jumped onto and between her legs and tried to get under them. It was trying to get to where it had seen some very nice eye candy when Kel had pulled down her pants when they both were in the stream. Aura finally knew what was attacking them. It was a good thing she always read books back home to pass the time. "Water IMPS!" was all she could get out before she felt the one's little webbed and taloned fingers grabbing her chest. Crying and trying to pull it off of her. It hurt and she wanted this to stop. "GET OFF OF ME!!! OUCH!! NOT THERE!!! DON'T BITE THAT!! KELLLLL!!!!"

Kel whipped around abandoning his hunt of the annoying blue imp thing. "NOO!!!! Shes ours!" The blue creature yelled as it leaped on to Kel's neck. "Dammit. GET. OFF!" Kel yelled as he grabbed the biting, snapping snarling creature and threw it away with all of his strength. The creature flew for a ways in midair before striking a jagged rock with a wet smacking crunch. It didn't move again.

All four imps looked over at the crunched one and made a "ewwwww" noise. Looking at each other and all said in unison to one another. "You do it!" Giving enough time for Aura to grab the one that had been in her shirt by the neck. It clawed her hand and made it bleed a little, though she was bleeding from it's previous actions already. "get.. off... of... ME!!!" She said as she flung the creature towards Kel. But the ones that still held Aura just looked and watched the other fly. "There goes Francis..." one said as the one on Aura's Crotch finally got the pants open and was about to crawl in for some impish fun. Making Aura scream again and try to keep it out while kicking the others as she tried to shake them off from their webbed grips on her legs.

Kel spun around to face aura just as a small blue thing was rushing at his face. Extending his hand outward it was caught cleanly through its midsection on his knife. "Ugly fuckers aren't they?" He asked more to himself then anyone. Running over Kel aimed a solid kick at the creature standing on Auras crotch's head sending it next to one of the creatures near her legs with its skull caved in and leaking a foul dark liquid. "Oh my god! He killed Kenny!" "Who's next?" "You Bastard!"

As the one that had been holding Aura's left leg let go to attack Kel, Aura now had a free leg to kick the one that was still holding her right leg. Kicking it and finally making it let go, Aura got up and yelled "I hate you!" before punting the nasty creature away. She felt very violated at the moment and wished Kel would kill the last one and get the both of them someplace else... very far from here.

Kel stepped on the last creature, Smiling as he listened to every bone in its body snapping like twigs. "That all of them right? You okay Aura?"

Aura looked over at Kel and sighed. "Yeah, but I need new clothes..." Aura said as she tried to keep her shirt closed, only for it to rip more... her pants were also having some trouble staying up as well. Aura was not happy to say the least. "Can we go... like now? I may have punted that last one, but I have a feeling he'll be back with reinforcements..."

"Yeah. It would probably be best to leave as soon as possible. You injured." Kel frowned looking Aura over. "That outfits ruined and it will only slow us down having you fight with it. Take it off. I have a cloak you could wear. Its lightweight and will keep you either cool or warm as you need, and there is a tie in the front so you wont need to worry about exposing yourself. We'll get to the tree cover and you can change there."

Aura looked her chest over and frowned. She was actually rather scratched up and her one breast needed some treatment... "Darn those things have teeth..." Aura said as she striped the blouse off and covered herself slightly, more for the sheer fact she was injured than having been topless in front of Kel.

Kel's frown deepened. "Okay. First we treat that wound. THEN we walk. Unless you want to change before we get in to the trees?" Kel went over to his pack and pulled out a small pouch and a cup. Returning to where Aura was he had her sit down and sat next to her. Filling the cup with water from the stream Kel took some leaves out of his pouch and started rolling them around in his hands. "Its called Athelas." Kel answered Auras unasked question before she could give it voice. "You can tell from the leaves pleasing scent. It grows wild all over in Alundra. And even breathing in its aroma is said to revitalize even the most weary." Kel hummed quietly to himself as he began grinding up the leaves. "When the black breath blows and death's shadow grows and all light's pass, come Athelas! come Athelas! Life to the dying In the King's hand lying!" Kel gently sprinkled the powder in to the cup of water as he slowly stirred it. "My family has passed this down through our line for ages, but when mixed with a drop of blood from our line it can help heal nearly any wound, and speed recovery time up greatly. This led to our family giving it a second name. 'Kingsfoil.'" Kel pricked his finger with his nail and squeezed down allowing a single drop of blood to fall in to the glass. Setting the cup down for a moment Kel picked up Auras discarded shirt and tore a section of clean fabric off of it. Dabbing the cloth in the cup he gently moved auras hands away from her chest and began wiping the blood away, having taken the wounds away with the blood. Kel smiled and kissed Aura gently on the lips when he was done. "Feel better? The pain should have lessened greatly."

Aura giggled at the sensation the herbs had on her. It was something she had never seen before, but it did feel good. She smiled after Kel had kissed her and nodded that it did help. But she pulled him back in for a longer kiss as she felt rejuvenated. Stopping the kiss, Aura looked over Kel ad simply asked. "So... that cloak?"

Kel flashed her a grin. "Sure we need it?" He then grabbed his pack with one hand and caressed Auras exposed skin with the other for a moment before fetching the cloak out of it. "Here you go. You'd be surprised how comfortable that is to wear. I've even fallen asleep in it from time to time."

Aura took the cloak and placed it on. Standing up and tying up the cord on the front of the cloak. "This is comfortable... but, lets get going." Aura said as she began to walk as she placed and trailed her hand over Kel's shoulder as she walked past. Beginning their trek towards the woods in front of them. Before that imp came back.

Kel and aura walked in silence for several hours, each simply enjoying the others company. It was nearly dark before they stopped to make a camp for the night in a small clearing. setting there things down Kel turned and asked "Wanna cook? or set up camp?"

Aura looked around and wondered just 'how' to set up camp? She had never actually done it before. "I think I shall cook. But first..." Aura began "What shall we have on the menu? have anything left over in that bag of yours? I can go from there." Finishing as she went around the small clearing, for a few minutes, and gathered some fire wood.

Coming back to the middle of the clearing, Aura placed the firewood she had gathered into a pile and looked around for anything else to add to it. Instead, Aura just looked up at Kel and asked. "Is this good enough?" before trying to start the fire with rubbing two sticks together. Not wanting Kel to use any magic, as he could quite possibly still be out of energy to do so. She didn't want to make him collapse again.

Kel looked up from what he was doing long enough to answer Auras question. "Food and flints in my bag. Help yourself, there's plenty. Grab one of the logs in there too while your at it. It'll burn longer then that kindling you've gathered." Kel had finished putting up the tent as was starting to unroll the sleeping bags. "Let me know if you need help with anything Aura."

Aura nodded and began searching through Kel's bag. Finding the flint, steel and a log to add to the fire after it had been started. She would go through the rest after she was done as she began to hit the flint to get a spark.

After finally getting the fire going, Aura went into Kel's bag again to figure out what they should have for dinner. Taking out a small pot and filled it with some water and placed it onto the fire, that as now burning brightly, as she waited for it to boil.

Aura found more things in Kel's bag as she was just as much surprised as the first time she had saw it. Now pulling out some pasta and also some butter... It wouldn't be all that much, but at least it was food. She also pulled out some bread rolls and waited for the pasta to cook, as she figured out what to make next. Finding a few other goodies in Kel's bag as she smiled happily.

Kel finished setting up the rest of the camp and stretched before walking over to where Aura was seated. "So? Whats for dinner?" Kel asked before leaning over to see what was in the pot. "Pasta huh? And bread too? Tell me theres more."?" Kel said grinning. "Need any help or anything?"

"Well, I'm waiting for the pasta to cook, but I do have an idea for some other things. But she stopped when she had found a bulb of garlic. "Could you strike, peel and dice this for the bread? I think pasta and bread with garlic butter sounds good for starters. But that's just the appetizer... though you'll get more than me. as you eat more respectively." Aura said as she handed Kel four cloves from the bulb of garlic.

Aura then went back to looking through Kel's bag and started taking out some carrots and pea pods. She also found a small steamer. Pulling the pods apart and then cutting the carrots into medallion rings, she placed them into the steamer and laid it atop the boiling pot with the pasta. That was that for the vegetables.

Going back in and finding a container of some of the mashed potatoes from the night at the Inn, Aura also pulled out a small pan, placing it slightly beside the pot as she put the potatoes into it with some butter... and began to warm the potatoes up so that they could be served. "Just how much more would be in here.. I mean for utensils and the like? Though... I think we're gonna need a bigger fire..." Aura said as she had picked out some ham and thought to lightly broil some cuts of it to give it texture.

Aura sliced a few large pieces and began to broil them as she soon took both off the steamed vegetables and the potatoes, as they were finished, and removed the pasta from the pot. and kept the water slightly hot for dish water after dinner was over. She also took out, from her bag, the fruit she had saved from the inn as their desert.

After finishing, Aura turned and faced Kel. "Do you think this is enough?" She asked, before plating it all out for Kel to dig in. Seeing as his portions would be far greater than hers.

"Its fine. Food looks good though. Thanks." Kel said as he starting eating. "So what did you want to do after dinner? Smores? Stargazing? .....Cuddling under the covers?"

[Akira Avelon]

Aura giggled as she ate. Moving to sit beside Kel as she looked upwards. "Well, star gazing and cuddling can be done at the same time, Yes? But what are smores? remember..." Aura said as she became a bit distant with the last part... "This is really the first time I have been outside the castle.. let alone on my own. I don't know a lot of things you can actually do around a camp fire. I maybe should have watched you set up camp. I don't know the first thing about that." Aura giggled about her remark. "How do you like the food?" was the last thing she asked before going back to her plate of food.

"It's a dessert. usually involving melted marshmallows and chocolate....but I don't think I brought any come to think of it. Guess that's out." Kel took another bite. "Yeah. The foods great." Kel wrapped his arm around Aura. "Hey what happened to not worrying about the past anymore, and only dealing with the present? Don't tell me you decided to ignore your own decision already! ......Besides, you don't seem as the camping type to me. Romantic getaway? Sure. Camp out...not so much."

Aura leaned into Kel as he placed his arm around her. Stopping what she was doing as she looked up at Kel. "I'm just worried is all. I may know I'm safe with you.. but unlike you. I've seen things that that dark mage has done that I wish I hadn't.. He's basically the embodiment of evil as one can probably get.. I've.... I've seen..." Aura couldn't get it out as it had been a thing that has troubled her dreams for a long time now... one night she had woken within the late hours of the night and was going to go to the library to find a book... Only to almost turn a corner to see Galhoul kill a soldier and make the mans skeleton rip out from the corpse... It made her unable to sleep for a few nights until exhaustion took over and made her sleep finally.

Taking a deep breath, Aura closed her eyes and opened them. She looked straight at Kel and told him what she had never told anyone else. "I saw Galhoul kill a man and then make the very same mans Skeleton rip out from his body and begin to walk about. Taking up his armaments and then walking with the mage... I couldn't sleep for a good many nights before my body made me.. It was the only thing that I saw in my mind after that... It still haunts me to this day..." Aura said as she shivered from fear, leaning very close into Kel as she had once again closed her eyes and tried to bury the memory once again.

"So...I was right. He is a necromancer. I suspected as much." Kel said thoughtfully. "Still. Magic always comes at a price, and Dark magics price is steep indeed. Magic over life and death tends to waste away ones own vitality, leaving them little more then living mummy's. That's part of the reason Necromancy is banned." Kel smiled and kissed Aura gently on the lips. "No worrys though. Ive dealt with a couple over the years. They weren't to tough, creepy oh yeah...but not so tough without there magic." Kel paused deciding on how much to tell Aura and decided it didn't really matter. "Besides. When we get back to Alundra I can have the council dispatch special assassins trained to deal with corrupt spell casters quietly."

"How much longer will you buffoons take to find a measly little PRINCESS?!?!" Galhoul yelled as he was not in a good mood in a god forsaken small town to the east of where Aura and Kel were.

"We... we've looked on all the roads, checked most of the rivers and have sentries in all the towns that remotely go towards Alundra... there has been no sign of the princess or an Alundrian prince..." a soldier spoke hesitantly as Galhoul looked at him with his evil stare. "Do I look like the kind of person who accepts failure... AND excuses?" The mage asked as the soldier shook his head in non agreement. "n-no you don't sire..."

"Correct... Begone from my sight and don't come back until you find something that is of use to me... Or you will join the ranks of my personal guards... well a boot licker or something..." Galhoul trailed off as the small band of soldiers left him in his quarters... "I think it's about time for me to send out my own little search party..." He said as he began to summon a few imps to run about the country side and look for clues and ask other imps with in the area. He knew there was a blue imp colony near one of the rivers... maybe that should be a good place for his little imps to look.

Aura smiled and nodded. Kissing Kel once more as she cuddled in his arms. "Alright.. let's think or talk about something else.. or lets just finish our food and then go to bed... so to speak." Aura winked as she looked back at her food. Giggling at her notion as she could feel Kel's grasp get tighter.

kel quietly finished his meal before gathering up the cookware and quickly cleaned them, putting them back in to his bag once he was finished. Seeing as Aura still hadn't finished her meal Kel leaned back and looked up at the stars. Well...what stars he could see through the patches in the tree cover. "Theres the three sisters, danceing in play." Kel said absently. "The brothers must be hiding. Theyd be rather bright this time of year. Fidchell, Tarvos, The emperess..." Kel said as he pointed in turn where each would be. "I wonder whats out there....Wouldn't it be fun to see?"

Aura smiled and placed her plate down as she looked over at Kel and then up at the stars. "Yes, it would be nice to go see what lies beyond. But..." Aura said as she then leaned over Kel. "I do so like the view right here." Smiling as she was a few inches away from Kel's face.

"Hurry and go search. I want Aura found! NOW!!" Galhoul commanded of his five imps, seeing them scurry out of his room from the balcony, into the now quiet streets and out of the small village into different directions. One was bound to find something... "It's just a matter of time before I find you, my little mouse."

Smiling Kel closed his eyes and sighed. "Something tells me your not that interested in stargazing at the moment." Kel looked up at Aura. "I want to be the first person to explore it all. Go everywhere, see everything. Maybe you could come with me? It would be all the better if there was someone there to share the moments with.

[Akira Avelon]

Aura smiled and moved to lay beside Kel, looking up at the stars. "I would love to, but first we need to go to your kingdom so I can acquire sanctuary and citizenship... then and only then I would be able to venture out with you without worries. Well, unless my father tried to do something about it, but by then it would make a very bad scuffle between the two kingdoms and he can't compare to your defenses... He yells about it sometimes when he thinks no one is around..." Aura said as she looked downwards a bit in the sky. "What is that constellation? The one that is like a diamond with what looks like an arrow going through it?"

"That one? Its Innis. The mirage of deceit. The arrow looks like it points north. but throughout the year the stars change enough that if you try following it, you'll end up hopelessly lost. Your better off following the light of the Sisters." Kel answered her. Kel sat looking at the sky for a time longer and finally looked back at Aura and asked. "Ready for bed?"

Aura yawned a bit before getting up and giggling a little. "A little bit... but first. I must wash my dishes and then we can go to bed." She said as she got up on her feet and did her dishes. When she was done, she just looked over at Kel, who seemed to be watching her. "okay, shall we get to bed?"

"I was punted... The little wench doesn't know good impish pleasure for the life of her... And that male... he killed Francis... George, Miles and He also Killed Kenny!"

"Kenny?"

"Yes, Kenny.."

"That bastard!!!"

"That's what I said... We got to make them pay! Are you with me?" the single still living blue imp said as he rallied with the rest of his, now smaller, tribe. Not noticing a newcomer that was asking questions with a few of the blue imps on the outskirts. They were shaking their heads in not knowing of a princess coming through there recently.

"Now! Lets go find that pair of Imp bashers! That Green eyed girl Shall know our touch and that Man with the crested ring shall know pain... IMPISH STYLE!!" A lot of cheering went through the area as the black imp looked over and listened intently. Asking about what the one blue imp was talking about.

"Ah, it seems while swimming, five of our horny youngsters saw a man and a women playing in the water and the man had undressed the woman from the waist down. All the young males saw and wanted in on some of the action and attacked the two... getting owned and now the only survivor is seeking revenge.. I doubt anything will happen. He doesn't even know where they headed as we found him a good four miles away from the nearest water source... He definitely got mistaken for a pig skin..." One of the elders said as she black imp thought about it a little bit. asking if there was a certain direction that the couple might have gone in? Only to be held up even more as information was patchy if best...

Kel stood up and poured a bucket of water over the flame the covered the remains of the fire with dirt and debris. "There. Now any presuers will think this fires from some time ago. Once we leave that should throw them off of our trail." Kel led Aura back to there tent and opened it and stepped aside allowing her enterence before following her inside. The tent itself was quite roomy. Allowing for several to bed inside comfortably. Closeing the enterance behind him Kel began disrobeing before lieing on top of his sleeping mat. It was warm yet so Kel didnt feel the need to crawl in underneath the blanket.

Aura slipped off her pants and went to lay on the mat that was for her, only sitting as she looked around and then at Kel. "I guess I'll talk to you tomorrow... or.." Aura said as she moved over and laid on her stomach facing Kel directly. "Maybe I should keep that promise I made... or what ever it was... Like actually finding out how real love feels as I still can't remember how it felt except the after effects from this morning... I don't think you took me too seriously earlier, right?" Aura said as she sounded mildly confused, but she was being sincere to a point. She did feel attracted to Kel and she did owe him something for saving her from those nasty beasts earlier. What else could she give him for helping her? a kiss? No... a hug? No... She could only think that Kel deserved her whole self for a thank you after all he had done for her.

Kel rolled over and raised his eyebrow. "Your rambling. Speak your mind and be direct. You'll get farther with people like me." Kel rolled back on to his back. "...Well....directness and food. I always have a soft spot for good food."

Aura sighed and came straight out. "Kel, will you take me for the night?..." But she then mumbled over that and thought about it again. Moving over and now leaning on him, Aura took a deep breath, as she turned red from embarrassment, and said it. "Kel, will you have sex with me?" Aura had said it and went as read as a tomato, letting go and turning as she held her face. She couldn't believe she said it as she blinked a few times...

Kel chuckled and propped himself up on one elbow while facing Aura. "Well finally we get to the cusp of the matter. Bout time you said what you meant for a change. Though climbing on top of me and kissing me or something might've gotten your point across sooner. Any particular reason? or am i just irresistible bait?"

Aura turned around a blushed again... just how much more can she blush really? She was about to say something but just smiled. He did say that a Kiss would say more than her actually speaking...

Moving closer, Aura closed her eyes and placed her lips to meet Kel's, Drawing him in as she moved one hand to caress his face. Stopping only for breath, as she looked into Kel's eyes and smiled. "Is that enough for you? Or do I have to spell it out more?' She said with a small giggle.

Kel laughed. "No. I think that says things eloquently enough." Kel smiled and as he kissed her deeply he removed the last of the clothing between them and took her in to his arms....


*the next morning*

Kel awoke with Aura laying still on his chest there bodies still connected between there legs and a faint smile on her lips. Kel smiled. 'I could get used to waking up like this every morning. Though I think I'll let her sleep a little while longer.' Taking care not to wake her Kel closed his eyes, kissed her forehead gently and lie back and drifted back off to sleep.

Aura kept smiling up to the point of her waking from her good night's rest. She looked at Kel and smiled again, feeling that they were still together, she didn't move yet, as she brushed away some of the strands of hair from his face. Kissing him as she looked at his face. "Morning, Kel." was all she said before unlocking their bond and moving off of him. She left the tent, with the cloak, and headed towards the river that they had followed to the clearing. Washing up and waking herself fully.

'Now... what to make Kel for breakfast?' Aura thought as she went back to camp and looked for something that didn't need cooked in Kel's bag. She didn't want to start another fire. She found a few muffins and fruit.

Moving back into the tent, Aura saw that Kel was still asleep and that she had left him uncovered. Giggling to herself, Aura went over and rubbed him down below and licked it gently. Making sure that Kel was aroused enough to make him wake up. "Wakey, wakey."

Kel opened one eye. "If I say I'm still asleep will you promise not to stop there?" when Aura just smiled mischievously Kel sat up and wrapped him arms around her waist and pulled her close to him. "An early morning romp perhaps to get the blood pumping?" Kel kissed her mouth deeply.
