I reckon we need a thread to talk about Anime and anything anime for the ones that of course enjoy it and post any thoughts about it.

So, what was the last anime you watched and what are your fave?

Deathnote is definitely one of my favorites so far and I am currently watching Samurai Champloo which has been quite entertaining.

Also among my other fave are Cowboy Bebop, Ergo Proxy, Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Princess. I know I have more but these stand out for me at the moment xD

Oh and Howl’s Moving Castle is also another one favorite anime movies thus far.

You know I can get into some of the story lines, but I get seriously irritated with the portrayal of women and men too (they totally look like chicks). *Feminist mode* To me it irritates me that very often they portray women as prepubescent girls with way too big of tits and voices like they're mid-orgasm.

Some of it is extremely just... childish as well. My husband likes it however so I just deal with it. lol

Since my sister is in the international studies signature program at her school and taking Japanese, my dad lives in China, and my cousins live in Japan I get quite a bit of Anime stuff. My favorite movies are some of Miyazaki's too. I used to read manga quite a bit a couple of years ago but don't anymore. I also don't really like anime television shows.

I used to watch Witch Hunter Robin and I watch Bleach occasionally. I've seen some of Death Note because of my husband.

Some of the Hentai is quite disturbing...yes. And yet a lot of ppl enjoy it. I don't watch that crap, if I am going to see 'pRon', I'll watch the real deal :P

If you've never seen "...Tyler" you have to check it out. It's basically about this idiot who becomes the captain of a spaceship. After a while, though, you start to wonder if he really is an idiot. It's one of the funniest series I've ever seen.

I myself am an anime nut. I've watched and own so much I can't even list it all. Akira is a good movie, but the manga is far more detailed. I love all of the Miyazaki's movies. My Neighbour Totoro, Spirited away, The cat Returns... Oh man, I could just list them all, they are all good. I personally liked (Out of anime shows) Black Cat, Trinity Blood, Rurouni Kenshin, Hellsing, Witch Hunter Robin, Bleach, Ghost in the shell, Vision of Escaflowne, Cardcaptors, Every Dragonball series, (original japanese only version of) Yu-Gi-Oh! and alot lot more!

But there is so much more out there that is also good. I watch my anime on a site called crunchy roll., they have a serous amount of anime and other Asian stuff on there. But be warned... they also have the live action version of Sailor moon... That was absolutely horrid in my opinion... Sailor moon was an ok anime... After you got over moon whining almost all the time in the beginning... ><

I currently watch Devil May Cry, Bleach, Naruto Shippuden, Dragonaut and Night Wizard every week. Quite interesting all of them. Bleach and Dragonaut are my favorites. Their storylines are just amazing. DMC is just so-so. It's all action and one story per episode kinda thing. Naruto is moving to fuckin' slow. Night Wizards is moderately good. A good time pass I'd say.

DEFINITELY try out Dragonaut if you like Anime. It's awesome.

Actually, I don't think that "The Cat Returns" is a Miyazaki film. I think it's just another Studio Ghibli film. The animation style gives it away.

EDIT: Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Cat_Returns) confirms it. The director's name is Hiroyuki Morita. But, by the way, I do love that movie too.

Samurai Champloo is win. I'm going to have to watch the series again and ask Semir if I can knock his Mugen tag off of him. xD

But for me, Cowboy Bebop was epic. Surprisingly good for old-school anime, therefore proving all sequels suck. But it's so enjoyable to watch Cowboy Bebop because of the way the action is portrayed. I first got to watch it when I was 12, and that was pretty much when I gave up on Dragonball Z. =]

The fights are just like five frames of animation repeated over and over again, not to mention the fact that each episodes contains like seven seconds of actual events. I watched one episode where they were waiting for the fight with Cell to start.

If you want great anime fighting, look no further than Samurai Champloo. It's got the best fight scenes of any anime I've ever seen. Cowboy Bebop is a close second.

The recent anime that pops up on Adult Swim makes me want to burn things. I only like the serious ones (except for Shin Chan and FLCL, those are just so amusing!) and not all this overly emotional pre-adult screaming crap. I hope they release something good again, Adult Swim I mean. They did well on some things, and Death Note seems promising, but no high expectations.

Otherwise, I normally dislike Anime. I prefer the more real looking or simplistic art styles, but anime has just grown so old and repetitive in style. Mainly because of overly excited girls discussing it constantly when I was in high school and too much art on it. So yeah, if there is something else on, I'll watch it :P Unless it is an anime on that list, that is.

i'll admit that dbz isn't the best but i still like it.

oh and i watch samurai champloo and i like it i watch cow boy bebop to alon gwith trigun and others. but i couldn't think of them all.i also liked death note, i was all into it for a while i would read the manga the day it came out but once the last one came out i was mortified i hated the ending. what are your thoughts on the ending of death note?

It depends, if you say current favourite I'd say Clannad however all time I''d have to break down into sub-genres and be here all day. By the way my current favourites change depending on what I am watching.

All four of those titles are really the only series I've watched that are so engrossing. I really can't stand genric anime, that comes out looking like a continuation of Dragonball Z. When there's action in those titles, it's not a repeated frame, and there's actually scenery besides a giant plain with a sky. The environment is actually detailed, and looks nice.

Sounds interesting Witch Hunter though I have yet to hear of it...You should check out Clannad though if your into your dramas, basically if you liked either version of Kanon (mainly the remake in 2006) then you'll like Clannad..the series, I haven't seen the film yet.

Eh, can't say I'm really into anime. I used to well into Dragonball Z when I was younger, but kinda grew outta that. Only other anime show I used to watch was Outlaw Star and Gundam Wing, but they stopped showing those. :(

Nowadays I just don't have the time to watch whole anime series, and I hate watching lengthy videos on my computer, so. I just watch the occasional anime movie.

I'm a big fan of Hayao Miyazaki's movies. I particularly like Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle. I thought they were very well made.

I've started watching One Piece recently and it's very interesting. The animations and character designs seemed a bit childish to me at first but I soon got over it pretty quick as the engrossing storyline is just so damn interesting and the events how they play out. It really is awesome.

My thoughts EXACTLY when I watched the first episode. I even thought "God these animations are so cartoonish." But stick with it. You won't be able to pull yourself away from it. The way the creator develops the main character's personality and how he affects all the people around him is SO masterfully done that I was at a loss of words. Plus after about 10~15 episodes the storyline becomes SO interesting you won't be able to pull yourself away.

It's no joke One Piece is ranked in the Top Ten Japanese Animes. It's simply brilliant.

Agreed, this show is pretty damn well action packed. However my only issue is they changed the ending from the actual manga so it means the chances of a second season are low (since the manga is still going).

I'll also agree with Genshiken, they are on par with Lucky Star and Suzumiya Haruhi for me. Constant humor.

Good news Faithy, there is a confirmed School Rumble third season to be released as was announced at the end of febuary, theres no date when its gonna be about but something to look forward to.

Luffy is Awesome. Luffy has an extremely diverse fighting style and he comes up with a new attack in EVERY SINGLE new battle. His fighting is extremely versatile and he confuses the fuck out of the enemy with what he's gonna do next. Not a retarded KAGE BUNSHIN NO JUTSU in every single goddamn battle.

And as for affecting people around him. When they first meet Luffy, they look at him as a very carefree and "take things as they come" individual that can't accomplish anything. But once he decides to do something and they see his determination, they have no choice but to follow him. And he FOLLOWS THROUGH with his intentions and makes things happen. He doesn't become a fuckin' crybaby and run off to his mama yelling I FAILED AGAIN SAKURA CHAN!!!!!

I'm sorry I went on this rant but Luffy is my favorite Anime character. He is everything I want to become in life and seeing him being compared to that retarded fuckhole, I just CANNOT take.

Sasuke is f*cking pissing me off. He is the WORST character in my list of Naruto characters. With the recent happenings he has stooped even below Naru-f*cking-tard. It's so f*cking typical of him. He spent all his damn life trying to kill his brother and now that he succeeds just because something a shady and mysterious character said it's all about REVENGE FOR MY DEAR BRO! f*ck you Sasuke. You are easier to manipulate than a drunk bitch on rohypnol. Think NOTHING of what your brother actually DID to PREVENT the very f*cking thing you are going to to do now. I think its likely the tailed beasts escapade was just so Madara would get the Kyuubi back likely. Jiraiya is dead, which I hate. They kill off all the best characters; like Asuma and Jiraiya.

Its hard to say whether Naruto was a decendent since he is just the child of the Fourth. There have been no links making Yondaime related to the First or Second who were Senju. The actual Senju clan have all but disappeared really apart from Tsunade and possibly the other higher ups like Danzou.

I have a feeling that they will ruin it further but making Sasuke switch sides and be best pals with Naruto again. I will seriously cry if he does though. My hopes is Naruto will die for Konoha, not that I dislike him, but die as a hero would for Konoha which I doubt and Sasuke will carry on the clan elsewhere or something.

As much as that is valid prediction, I would actually hate the fact that Naruto has a Rin'negan, his eyes would be fucked. It would be red background whilst at the same time have rings of chakara of the other seven colours.

Also I'd like to point out that Jiraiya's potential saviour student, it never said once that they would possess the Rin'negan, it just said he would train someone to save or destroy the world...or what really happened he did both.

There has still been no theory on why the Senju's were stronger than Uchiha but I think thats a misconception. I think an army of uchiha would defeat an army of senju, just the strongest of the Senju were considerbly stronger. On that note I would have loved to seen a small gaiden arc of Hashirama Senju and Madara's fight...that would totally rock.

First you show them to be so full of themselves and then they get a tractor flatten them to dust. What gives. Also, I hate villians that think too highly of themselves. Like they can do anything. Such was the case for the main Bount villian and he pissed me the hell off every time he opened his damn mouth. As such, I wanted to see justice being done to him and what do we get instead? He POOFS out of existence without even spilling a drop of blood....... Worst Closing Ever.

So far, the new filler arc has not impressed me either. It's still bearable and entertaining so far. I'm mainly interested in seeing Shuusuke's release and its really ambiguous as to who the main villian is right now and I also like that. Even so, Lurichiyo makes me want to strangle her with Piano wire every time she opens her trap. Also the whole "alternate reality" thing is not doing much for me. They didn't even give an explanation as to how Ichigo and the gang end up in the real world after saving Orihime from Grimmjow. Is it an alternate reality or are they gonna show that at the end of this arc Orihime will get kidnapped AGAIN. Because that's going to be hella Lame. Aizen is not that stupid....

Aizen on the other hand, is my Hero. The type of bad guy I admire. He knows the limits of his power, he is never full of himself. He knows exactly what he can do and how far he can stretch his limits. He is my favorite Bleach character.

I can imagine this is meant to be set far after the Aizen rebellion and such since it looks near summer based on their weather and clothing whereas the Hueco Mundo arc is set just before the winter. I can't say for sure and it may be sad to know but I covered your point. I highly doubt though Ichigo will use his make on this arc...just one of those feelings where everyone uses a bankai without their true abilities.

Ironically Lurichiyo is one of my faves of the arc since she has a cool voice...yes I know shitty reason. Well shes far better than her bodyguards who have shit Zanpaktou's, in fact that was one of the worst scenes I have seen in anime that Zanpaktou.

While on filler I'll admit the way Kariya died was very shit even if it was about to move back to the story, I still wanna know what he was gonna say to Ichigo. What made me laugh is when they tried to use Kariya in Ichigo's mask training when only Kenpachi was meant to appear, I was thinking at the time if they use only kariya and not Kenpaci I will cry with tears of anger.

I know too little to consider him a favourite character however his coup d'eat and his methods make him one hellova cool character. Back in the day when he betrayed Soul Sociey and he appeared before Hitsuyaga...I was like NO WAI!!! :O :O and at the same time happy that he didn't die on a building looking ever lame. Still I won't understand why hes interested in Ichigo personally since Ichigo is probably a major threat to him. Still I'd prefer Urahara and Aizen go at it in a fight, battle of the genius'.

Ahh I had that edge where when I watched Bleach, I had no idea about anything since I didn't want to hear any previews. On that note we need more emo Hinamori, "Aizen really is a good guy", when she told Hitsuyaga that I LOL'd.

Still at the end of it I can't really see how Aizen can be beaten since Kyoka Suigetsu just seems imprenetrable, he makes an illusion for screw everyone over and make you think ahh its someone else and then uses to not recieve one wound. If Bleach sums up with Ichigo who always charges in guns blazing and still beats Aizen I would be very unimpressed.

Hopefully Urahara might hit Aizen in the next chapter to show hes not really on a godly level, since they seem quite rivaled up right from when Urahara was admitted Captain.

At present all Ichigo can hope to achieve is at best defeat Ulquiorra somehow. He can't even do that right now. He will somehow need to awaken the next step in his evolution to take on Ulquiorra. Cero seems the next logical step to me. With Ichigo's present reiatsu his Cero would be devastating to epic proportions.

As far as Aizen is concerned, there are only 4 people I see who can even remotely compare to his level. Urahara, Ukitake, Yamamoto and Isshin. I'd also like to say Kenpachi because of his tremendous endurance level but the most he can do is survive for a long time. I mean he doesn't even know the name of his sword on top of being stuck in Heuco Mundo.

Finally, out of the remaining 4 we know for sure Yamamoto and Ukitake are hypnotised so they don't stand a chance. Only ones left then are Urahara and Isshin.

Actually, what my guess is that Isshin was the Captain of the Royal Guard 100 years. My guess is soon in one of the Turn back the Pendulum chapters he's going to make his grand entrance with the caption: "Captain of the Royal Guard: Kurosaki Isshin."

I will literally cream myself if that happens.

I'd like to think that Kyoraku could also possess the ability to defeat him but I think he and Utatake for the matter would need their great team effort to do so. Also the only one that is confirmed to not be under hypnosis is Ichigo since he was used for Aizen's cover up story.

C'mon are you sure they won't make Ichigo beat Aizen, its wishful thinking that it'll be someone else but remember this is a shounen manga, the main character has to always win the fight. Like the same way Naruto will defeat Madara and Sasuke. >_>

Also take into account the Vaizards who have more power than any of the Shinigami are sure to defeat any of them first. In fact I'd quite happily see Hirako come back and win just so he can gloat and rub it in his face the same way Aizen did to him last chapter.

I thought Cero would cover the same proportions and process as Kidou which we know for a fact Ichigo can't do and is never bothered to learn. Just the standard Getsuya Tenshou, why Kubo thought of only giving him the one powerful attack is beyond me, if Ulqiorra loses to a getsuya tenshou It'll be one of them fights that becomes the most disaspointing. The only time Ichigo has used Cero to date is when he was going through the process of the Vaizard power and he was just crazy back then.

Anyway here are my thoughts on Bleach right now:

Anime: We've reached the point where there is calm before the storm. Meaning the LONG ASS drawn out over hyped overrated completely and utterly boring Szayel Aporro battle before the real exciting battles between the Captains vs. Espada. Especially Kenpachi vs. Nnoitra. So looking forward to that.

Manga: It's as if Kubo can't come up with stuff anymore creatively that doesn't deal with the series ending so he's just buying time by pullling stuff out his ass that's completely crap. First it was the extremely BORING vice-captain fights and now thank God that that snoozefest is over and we're still getting nowhere. People just stand and fire off obscenities at each other and then the chapter ends..... Might I remind you that it's been close to two months since Ulquiorra unsheathed his sword? Yeah. It's like kubo made Ulquiorra so powerful that he can't come up with shit that would seem credible that pansy Ichigo rightfully defeated him. What a drag. Not to mention the MAIN CHARACTER of the series has been absent and not gotten screen time in over a month. The only interesting things that have happened ever since the Captains vs. Espada battles in Heuco Mundo is Halibel and Ulquiorra pulling out their swords. And ever since they did that they've gotten no screen time whatsoever. Kubo's drawing a blank.

To be honest I was more interested in the fight beween captains and espada rather than Ichigo and Ulquiorra since we all know what is going to happen anyway. Also I really want to see Soifon's Bankai. I do think too many fights are being showed at once at the moment which is very anime style. The Hitsuyaga fight looks very interesting along with Kyouraku's fight though typically minor fights will be dealt with. The last chapter made Omaeda look very cool for the first time in the whole series and about time too. He was always a waste to an assasination squad in my eyes until now. Far ninjas work you know like Chouji. :P

FullMetal Alchemist is also a universally good anime, most people like it.

Personally I think the anitmation is very diaspointing, this may be because I read the manga before the anime was released or might be because the anime wraps up the story in rather crap way. Certain fights and the music composed was the best part of the anime. The manga if you ever feel like checking it out explains a lot of gaps that have not been covered yet and some of the fights outcomes are different.

I was thinking about reading up on the Claymore Manga, but I'd heard that the story was on-going, but there is a chapter like once a month meaning no chance of a second season to Claymore anytime soon. I know the ending wasn't good, but I still liked Claymore a lot, the music and pacing was fantastic, I especially liked the Theresa arc in the beginning

Just watched Naruto Shippuuden Episode 85 and I must say that the battle scenes are getting better. It just sucks that we have to wait two weeks for the hour special.

Bleach has gone to the SHITS. It pains me to think that I have to watch all this BULLSHIT in the anime later on. It's been close to 3 months since Ichigo made an appearance.....

Lost interest in Naruto after he cried like a 1-year-old kid in Sakura's lap after getting completely po-tat-owned by Sasuke.

One Piece can never go wrong. Both the anime and manga excellent but both are at a point right now that's kind of a low. There's highs and lows and it's kind of at a stand still right now.

So there you have it folks. There is no anime currently airing that I watch that entertains me. Getting pretty bored over here.

Last series I watched was Hellsing. It was pretty awesome, though kinda repetative as well. I tend to prefer watching anime movies, with favourites of mine being Akira, Gundam Wing: Endless Waltz, Spriggan and Spirited Away. I never really have time to get into watching huge series of anime, or tv shows, for that matter.

I've been torrenting my bleach, naruto, and hellsing. Bleach is finally back at an entertaining point in the story. Naruto is just kinda like "Uh... go apeshit again, im getting bored" and Hellsing was awesome while it lasted but now I've finished everything that's out on it. Hellsing makes me wish if it were true that I hadn't had sex.
