An interesting article about a bank scandal that took place on EVE Online that mirrors what's been going on with the world's own economy.
TL;DR, A player with EVE Online who happened to be one of the CEO's of one of the largest banks in the game, a bank that despite working with game money worked like an actual bank, holding deposits, offering loans, etc. took 200 Billion dollars from the bank; along with taking money from the bank, the CEO also gave a loan to another player alliance for building capital ships, the loan fell through and the bank lost around 460 billion dollars. The player was banned not for doing any of this, but for selling the stolen credits for real money, for medical bills for his son.
