So I thought I'd wack it in the PS3 section of the forum even though its also relating to the 360. So I was one of the early buyers of the game, pre-oredered and went to shops at 8am to pick it up...fun stuff with lack of sleep.

First impressions of the game...

Well amazing would be an understatement, when I first saw the graphics on how advanced the GTA world has become I was shocked (in the good way). The scenery is very wonderful indeed and rain looks realistic now. This makes a wet floor reflect and everything.

Another thing that struck me was how indiviudual every person on the street is, now you get people who call people randomly and if your walking nearby you can hear the full conversation. You have your own mobile phone which is now customizable where you can change your own ring tone, recieve messages, call whomever you want and use it for online.

The story is very complex and as always there are very unique people who you tend to work for however a new feature is if you spend social time with them, you get small advantages as a reward depending on who it is. On this game you get friends and girlfriends.

The cop feature has changed as well, unlike previous games where once you get two stars of cops onto you, pay n' spray is the only resort or stars, you have to escape the area you are in and lay low, change cars and basically a very realistic chase is presented. Also I found that if an officer has a gun pointed at you, you personally have the choice to break and make a run for it or be arrested, running away only increases your wanted level further. Of course Pay n' Spray is still there if you want.

The driving system has changed and is a lot more difficult to drive, rather than rely on the X button, now you have the bumper buttons and you HAVE to break or you crash garunteed, and I mean break early.

To any who are in Austrilasia area (New Zeland, Austrailia), I have heard a heavy rumor that its been edited to meet an audience of 15+ or something and some parts of the game have been cut. Though I have no idea what nor has any press release been said what was cut.

Future dowloadable content has been confirmed to pack a minimum of 10 hours more gameplay with new cars and gameplay so its something to look out for. Apparently there is going to be different downloadable content between the PS3 and 360.

Three hours of gameplay and I covered this much, very much worth the money and a highly recommended game.

My friends went in at Midnight as if you haven't pre-ordered here, you're not getting it. Although I'm still go to try, I'm a GTA hater but I still want to give it a go. This one looks quite enjoyable, I liked 3 as well.

I'll be getting it on 360 though as if I do like it, I'll probably play it online quite alot and I fancy the idea of decent additional content if I want it.

I haven't tried it online yet since I am still getting used to it. Theres enough to do in that actual game without online at the moment. Reputations are back so you have to keep everyone happy.

By the way if you liked 3 you will love this game, its like a super upgrade. New cars as well, Ferraris, Bentleys, Jaguars and more convertables.

I've never ever played a GTA in my life. I did watch I think GTA2 at someone's house once and I thought it looked really kinda of fun. But when I got home from school today I was listening to Public Radio and they had an interview on it and I was convinced that I really should probably get it. But I just need one last thing of consent before I actually get it.
So should I get it?

Larsa....buddy...don't ask that question again. Go out and get it now! I picked it up ealier after work and it lives up to the hype. It's fun to play, the story seems interesting, and you still have all the perks of a gta game. The only thing that's kinda bugging me at the moment is the driving. I just want to drive fast, but it's harder to steer that way. Still, it's pretty good so far.

I think its a smart idea the driving system changed since now its the same system all racing games themself use. I think they just want the game to be uber realistic.

Larsa I think you need re-educating when it comes to games, you seem to not have the epic games like ever, and don't spout Final Fantasy as one since around here they don't count.

Lol, I do like to get the cheaper and less known games, but ya, I got a lot of educating today at school from this one kid. He said I should suck it up on how costly it is and go get it.

Just one more month and I'm having an all-out party with Devil May Cry 4, Metal Gear Solid 4 and of course the one and only Grand Theft Auto 4!

The perfect way to consummate my new ps3 I'm glad I waited uptil now to get it. Now I have time, money and of course these awesome games out for the ps3.

Should keep me busy till at least FFXIII comes remotely closer.

Good luck deciding what game to play first between GTA and MGS. This is why I avoid buying to games I love together since I will have issues of what game I really want to play and get nowhere in either. Its why I do not have Rainbow Six: Las Vegas II yet, since I have GTA...and I still play my other games.

Well, I ordered it early on the 30th with first-class mail and it's been three days.

It would still take 3-5 days even with first class ordering if you used the Internet based shop no matter the item. Ebay is not in that catagory before anyone says.
