(We really, really need a general gaming forum)
What with everyone geting excited about the Grand Theft Auto series again thanks to the upcoming release of GTAIV, I thought it might be interested to see what everyone's opinions on the franchise are. GTA is a series that gamers have always had a love / hate relationship for. Some hate it simply because it's such a hugely popular franchise, whilst others put it down because of their belief that it relies purely on shock tactics and violent excess to attract people. Some loves the series because of it's satiritical humour, and it's adult fashion of parodying the world that we live in, or the depht of variety and freedom that its sandbox gameplay allows, something which, lets not forget, the series is famous for pioneering. Your own personal thoughts? |

I play these games for about 10 mins and then give them away to friends who are easily ammused. The games storylines are sometimes good, or just incredibly steriotypical such as San Andreas. That game was a racial slur with added Samual L Jackson, just to make it even more M rated.
The new one does look interesting, but lets hope they take a more of a Vice City approach because that one was amusing. For 10 mins. I would much rather play the originals on my PS or my Gameboy colour. |
