Warring with Japan appears to be the new hotness as DICE has announced the next Battlefield, Battlefield 1943: Pacific. It will be available through the PlayStation Store this summer and uses the Frostbite engine (which is the same engine responsible for the mass amount of destructibility found in Bad Company). Up to 24 gamers can battle on the ground or in the air over three locations: Wake Island, Guadalcanal, and Iwo Jima. Whether this is enough to peek the interests of a fickle online crowd potentially burned out on WWII remains to be seen. Yes, it is a WWII game, but it could be hard to resist as a downloadable title with an excellent pedigree for online gameplay and the potential for loads of DLC.

DICE just announced that Battlefield: Bad Company will be getting a slew of new goodies and bug fixes in the upcoming week. Amongst a hand full of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks, Bad Company will also be getting a new map pack and PS3 trophy support, adding yet another title to the small list of games to whore out for trophies. A member of the Gametrailers forum, rEeee, has come across something interesting while linking his EA account and his PSN account. He was able to see his stats online; which included a list of trophies, which can presumably be found in the game.

The Battlefield: Bad Company demo is said to be up on PSN and Xbox Live Marketplace 2 weeks from today. Gamers from the USA can preorder their demo for early access at the Battlefield: Bad Company website. The mark at the bottom of the page says "Available June 25th". Which begs the question. If the demo is out June 25th? How are EA sticking to their June 23rd release date?

According to LazyGamer, whose supposedly been in contact with EA's South African branch, Battlefield: Bad Company has been pushed back June, citing the cause of the delay as time needed for extra polish and tweaking. Perhaps the delay is a good thing, as Battlefield can now avoid direct competition by the heavy hitters, Grand Theft Auto IV and Metal Gear Solid 4.
