Final Fantasy VII Coming To PlayStation 3 16 August?

Rumours have been rife for a long time now that Final Fantasy VII is coming to the PlayStation 3, and it has lately been brought back up with Square-Enix’s DKE3713 event supposedly being an anagram of ‘Remake 7’. These things happen though, don’t they? Developers often choose random letters and numbers for the names of their events!

GameTrailers user reinmaker was at the Best Buy in Texas, north of Houston, where he took this photograph using his phone’s camera. The bottom of the poster reads ‘Final Fantasy VII PS3 – 8/16/08’, eleven days from now. When he asked a staff member, they wouldn’t answer the question and said, “We only have Final Fantasy XIII”.

Whether this is a remake, printing error, or PlayStation Network re-release – which is unlikely, considering Best Buy wouldn’t be making money from Network titles – remains to be seen, but we’re eager to find out more.

Mortim: I believe 8/16/08 was a prospective FF XIII release date at one point. I know in the UK there's around 30 games all scheduled to be released on the same day in September. That will soon change :)
