Final Fantasy VII Remake Announcement Imminent?

Square Enix has always refutely denied any relation between the Tech Demo shown at GDC 2006 and a full Playstation 3 remake of one of the greatest games ever made, but with the latest news on several developments within the company, that may be about to change

With Japanese leading publication Famitsu celebrating its 1000th issue next month, they have confirmed that they will be celebrating with a world exclusive interview with Final Fantasy guru gods Tetsuya Numora, Tabata and ex-producer Sakaguchi on their involvement with the greatest franchise ever conceived from East to West on a Playstation and Nintendo console.

At the same time, the Official Playstation Magazine has secured an interview with Tabata, director of Crisis Core, on his method of madness in the compilation and saga of the Final Fantasy VII series. Amongst the many informative questions fired at Tabata during the interview, one question arose once again, namely, the remake of Final Fantasy VII on Playstation 3. The response... well, see for yourself

Tabata slides in a hint at the one blockage that's standing in the way of a Final Fantasy VII next gen remake.

"It is worth noting that when asked again about the possibility of a Final Fantasy VII remake, he said:

"The possiblity for a remake may become greater if, for instance, the schedules of the original members of the Final Fantasy VII development team, such as Kitase and Nomura, open up"

And what are they working on currently, not only Final Fantasy XIII and Versus! So basically, is Square Enix taking the possibility and huge fanbase outcry, and waiting for the opportune moment when all developers are free from their current projects to begin work on what could potentially be a phenomonal undertaking in videogame history.

Link this with the anniversary in Famitsu, and their worldwide exclusive interview with all of the gaming gods at Enix, past and present, and we could be seeing the first signs of a brand new chapter in the VII franchise very very soon.
