At long last Square has finally released actual in-game screenshots of one of the most anticipated games of 2009.
Final Fantasy XIII is scheduled for a Q4 2009 release, and with the games momentum slowly starting to gather pace, we are finally getting the CGI and HUD displays that we expect from such the Japanese super studio.

The Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy Versus XIII trailers that were shown at the private Square Enix DKS3173 event have now been released on the Re: Final Fantasy XIII DVD. Someone has ripped these from the DVD and uploaded them to the internet (see the videos by clicking "Read More").
The Final Fantasy XIII trailer shows a mixture of trailers we have seen before and a little bit of in-engine footage at the end, as well as confirming a 2009 release date for Japan at the very least....

Square-Enix have revealed a full and confirmed list of playable and non-playable titles and trailers for the upcoming Tokyo Games Show on October 24th.
There seems to be a veritable feast of gaming goodness from the RPG giant house, and if rumour is to be believed once again, they may have one or two suprises to announce during their conference and exhibits on the showfloor. The Tokyo Games Show is a notorious time to begin the climax for winter and new year, and is the new favourite venue to reveal big gaming announcements....

With Final Fantasy XIII being released on the PlayStation 3 and now the X360, there has been a certain amount of confusion over Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and whether it will be a PS3 exclusive or not.
Fanboys will be pleased to hear Versus XIII is not going to be released on the X360, as confirmed by a video at Square-Enix’s DKS3713 party in Japan, where a trailer finishes with the words ‘PlayStation 3 Only Worldwide’....

In what may the biggest E3 news in recent years, Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada stunned the packed stands of the LA Convention Center with his announcement that Final Fantasy XIII will now be headed to the 360. Long regarded as one of the pillars of Sony's game library, this announcement is a serious blow to Sony and PlayStation fans around the world.

Square Enix has come forward to rebuke suggestions that Final Fantasy XIII Versus is on hold, and continues to plough through the development process.
"Reports that development for Final Fantasy Versus XIII is on hold are false," the publisher said in a statement.
"The truth of the situation is that when free, some staff from the Versus team have been helping with the XIII team on development of Final Fantasy XIII....

In the latest issue of Famitsu, an interview with Tetsuya Nomura revealed that Final Fantasy Versus XIII is currently being put on hold.
The games director commented on how all the Versus XIII staff members have been drafted onto the main game in the Fabula Nova Crystallis series as that is the number one priority.
There are currently three games set for the series (however its rumored the third, Agito, has been scrapped....
