Firmware 2.01 Anyone ?

Sony Computer Entertainment has confirmed the release of Firmware 2.01 is on its way and will soon be released worldwide. However rumours of the upcoming integration of DivX support have not been confirmed. Apparently according to Sony the 2.01 update will be a “Minor update” that will “improve” the Playstation 3 system.

A Number of users are also having trouble with the new remote start function that was released with the 2.00 firmware release, many have resulted in many people’s machines turning on themselves without the owner wishing to do so. The problems should be fixed with the new upgrade. The Playstation 3’s Breakdown rate is at an astonishingly low 0.2%, and linked with the new upcoming firmware update this is set to drop even more.

Many Playstation users are still anticipating the release of a new rumoured XMB Bar that will be accessible when playing games, this setting up the possibilities for in game music and in game messaging.
