First Skate 2 Details Roll In

The September issue of Electronic Gaming Monthly contains exclusive first details of EA Black Box’s Skate 2, the sequel to 2007’s 700,000-selling simulator. Notably, the city of the original was ruined after a – currently unknown – disaster, and has been rebuilt. You’ll be able to play as a female character this time round, making use of the new character editor inspired by that of Tiger Woods, and a more camera angles including a Tony Hawk’s-style third-person view.

Other features include the ability to get off the board and move (or remove) objects to change lines around; a teleport option that lets you skip to different locations without long loading screens, and pedestrians will jump out of the way as you ride towards them (this is the type of exclusive info we’ve been waiting for!). It all runs at a full 60 frames per second as well.
