First Sonic Unleashed gameplay details surface

Sega TV has revealed a brand new early trailer for upcoming patented title Sonic Unleashed, revealing some interesting gameplay options and alternatives and a cool soundtrack to race along to. Quite how this trailer has been leaked out of SEGA is anyone's guessing; let's take a peek shall we?

Although Sonic has only just appeared in Brawl as a secret unlockable character, in upcoming Sonic Chronicles for the DS and sprawling the courts of Planet Superstar in Sega Superstar Tennis, which is rather good we must say, he now looks to be rediscovering his 2D roots from Sonic 1 in '91, as the gameplay suggests a return to mixed 2D platforming and 3D backdrops, loops and intertwining rails and magnetic surfaces.

If Sega continues to pour as much love into this title as they did for similiar outing Sonic Rush for the DS, then this could be an essential purchase come this Summer '08 when the game will be released on multiple consoles, of which none have been revealed at this stage.
