GC ’08: 160GB PlayStation 3 Announced, 80GB Launches Friday

David Reeves, President and Chief Executive Officer of Sony Computer Entertainment Europe, has announced a huge-capacity 160GB PlayStation 3, which will go on sale 31 October for €499. Whilst being the same as the upcoming 80GB version in terms of features, the console will also come packaged with €70 worth of downloadable content, which will be detailed at a later date.

Whilst on the note of the 80GB model, its release date was cleared up – it will be available this Friday (22 August), one week ahead of its rumoured schedule, for $399.
