Grand Theft Auto IV could last around 100 hours, demo unlikely
A Rockstar Games representative has said a demo of Grand Theft Auto IV is unlikely, with the reason being that the time spent making one would be much better spent working on the final game and making it turn out almost perfect. When videogamer.com asked if there will be a demo, the rep said “I’m sure there won’t be. If there was we would have talked about it. With a game like this the guys at Rockstar North will want to spend every minute making the game look great. Most people know the concept of GTA anyway. I don’t know that the demo is worth the time and effort”.
“Much of GTA IV is the driving around and we wouldn’t be able to give out the whole city. We would have to give away half the game for free. People would think Liberty City is a tiny city. You run into problems” they added.
On the bright side though, Rockstar has said GTA IV could last around 100 hours of just the story gameplay, let alone all the fun you can have doing other things, like killing innocent people! “If you’re not in a rush and you answer the phone when it rings it’ll be about 100 hours to complete,” said a Rockstar representative. “It’s harder to distinguish between main and side missions – there are loads of both. But there are more main missions than side missions. It’s not as clear cut as it used to be because of the phone”.
