Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to feature other instruments?

You’d expect a game with the title Guitar Hero: Aerosmith to involve playing guitar to Aerosmith songs if you knew no more. An online Best Buy advertisement hints to a less linear answer.

Accordingly in the game you’ll be able to play as all members of the band, this quote indicates. ‘Drum like Joey Kramer, wield an axe like Joe Perry and Brad Whitford, bring up the bottom like bassman Tom Hamilton and bely out vocals like the legendary Steven Tyler’. Hang on a moment! Drums, bass and vocals? This sounds a bit like Rock Band… only titled Guitar Hero.

If this is actually more than just speculation and turns out to be completely true, we wonder if the game will be renamed. Is Activision following in Harmonix’s footsteps? If so, will they produce their own instruments for the game given their feud with the Rock Band developer, or will they hope for compatibility? With not long to go until its release, we expect answers soon.
