After four years of painful waiting, Killzone 2 releases in under two weeks. An appropriate amount of time to dial up the Killzone 2 hype machine. When asked about television commercials, Jeff Rubenstein @ PSBlog replied:
"You will be impressed. We’ll let you see the ad before it starts airing, and you won’t have to wait long."
Suggesting that we may see the commercial when there is either 10 days or 7 days left....

Sony Computer Entertainment Europe has confirmed that the European Killzone 2 demo will be launching at around 5.00pm GMT today.
The demo will contain the first two sections of the game’s first level, as well as the tutorial sequence from the boxed product. The full game releases in Europe on February 25, and in the US on February 27.
We recommend you keep checking the PSN store around that time, because this demo could possibly be the most downloaded demo ever on the PSN....

The Super Bowl is watched by over 100 million people in the US every year, and a few million others worldwide. It is also described as one of the most significant advertisement opportunities in the year, because many people tune in just to see the Super Bowl commercials....

Sony Computer Entertainment UK have announced a £4 million Q1 marketing assault for the PSP and PS3. The company has allocated £2 million for February's PS3 exclusive, Killzone 2, while the rest of the money will be split between Sony’s Q1 PSP range, SingStar Queen and the re-promotion of LittleBigPlanet, Resistance 2 and Motorstorm: Pacific Rift.
SCEE marketing director Alan Duncan is quoted as saying that:
"Killzone 2’s February 27th launch will benefit from massive broadcast support across TV and cinema, along with a major online campaign, in-store support and a great deal of PR activity....

Sony UK has told the press today that its £2m Killzone 2 ad campaign, which included the newly announced web-game (more details on that soon) will launch in mid February, starting the ball rolling for what is easily one of the PS3's biggest titles this year.
"We’re targeting mid Feb to pre-promote Killzone 2," a Sony UK rep stated.
On top of the web-game and heavy advertising, Sony will be launching a Killzone 2 PS3 bundle which will be available when the game launches on Feb 27th, priced at £299....

According to a response by Jeff Rubenstein to a PlayStation blog post, it appears that gamers with money to burn will have to settle for the regular edition of the flagship title Killzone 2. When asked about a Collector’s Edition, Rubenstein had this to type:
"There is no collector’s edition slated for Killzone 2. Guerrilla Games has put all of their effort into creating this masterpiece of a game, so we didn’t actively pursue a CE....

Sony has just confirmed that the Killzone 2 demo, being released in the US on a pre-order-only basis, will be released on the UK PS Store in the "normal manner", free for all to play.
Over in the US, consumers will need to splash some cash for a pre-order at retailer GameStop, in exchange for a download code that'll snag them the demo.
This offer, as Edge-Online reports, will begin on February 3, and will remain limited to pre-orders until the game's release on February 27, after which the demo will be opened to everyone....
