Konami confirms Metal Gear Solid 4 release date
It’s official, Konami has announced that its upcoming PS3 exclusive title Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots is coming to North America on June 12… and it later added that the European version of the game will be on the shelves at the same time, for once!
The game will be shipping with the Metal Gear Online starter pack, which features online play for up to 16 players. Consumers with pre-orders – starting in April – will also get a Metal Gear Saga 2.0 DVD, which contains a recap of the series’ events, character bios, MGS 4 trailers and a 20th anniversary retrospective. If you pre-order the game you’ll additionally get a code used to access the Metal Gear Online beta, going live in April if all goes to plan.
“Blockbuster events and premieres are a tradition of the summer,” said Kazumi Kitaue, CEO of Konami Digital Entertainment. “We anticipate that Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots fits that bill perfectly, and consumers will be waiting in line to get their copy of the game just like it’s a Hollywood movie”.
