Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories coming to the PS3?

Mad Doc Software, as you may know, recently ported PS2 title Bully to the X360 and Wii with the title Bully: Scholarship Edition, which was met with a warm reception of 0.36 million units sold when combined. Clearly pleased with the studio’s effort, Rockstar Games has purchased it, renaming it Rockstar New England.

Studio head Dr Ian Lane Davis said he’s eager to work on character-driven, open-world stories… what Rockstar titles could fit that description? Not many: the most likely that have been predicted are Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Vice City Stories to be ported to the X360, PS3 and Wii, and with good reason. Box sets of sorts are proving to be popular with the likes of The Orange Box on the shelves containing Half-Life 2, H-L 2 Episode One, H-L 2 Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2, and it could be that Rockstar is looking to release a GTA box set. We’re going to push the boat out for expectations here with our prediction that GTA III through Vice City Stories will be released on now current-gen systems in a five-game collection.

With that said, we’re no doubt wrong. The release of GTA IV is just a few weeks away, the first reviews are rolling out, and once eager consumers have played it, are they going to want to go back? We don’t think so. So, other possibilities include ports of The Warriors, Red Dead Revolver… maybe even Manhunt, though don’t expect an easy classification of that!
