Max Payne 3 developed by Rockstar?

Speculation has risen sharply over the nature of the new Rockstar game as hinted at in the latest issue of Official PlayStation Magazine and
deliberated over by us at PlayStation Beyond.
It seems that the mystery may well be a little more straight-forward than first suspected though, with sites now amassing the factual evidence that this new game of theirs is none other than a long awaited Max Payne sequel.
To sum up the evidence in favour of the speculation, we present the reasoning behind our support of this theory:
In March 2004, whilst discussing the effects of Max Payne 2, CEO Jeffrey Lapin of Take-Two provided the welcome news that there would be another instalment, but that it could take a few years to complete. 11 September 2007, Take-Two reconfirms Max Payne as a current franchise whilst accounting for their brands in a financial report.
The film simply entitled 'Max Payne' is scheduled for a late 2008 release, providing an opportunity for mass revival of the series. We've seen little from Alan Wake, the supposed successor to Max's throne. Perhaps interest for the original has been recognised. That cute little quote dropped by OPM has had us all conjuring up wild ideas. To quote the original game directly though: "Snow was falling like ashes from post-apocalyptic skies". What could be 'cooler' than a city besieged by a snowstorm?
Until we see confirmation though, Max Payne 3 is filed under rumor. Although we have to admit, this one is simply too good an opportunity for them to pass up.
