Metal Gear Solid 4 no longer PS3 exclusive?
In a Hatimaki interview, Metal Gear Solid 4’s big daddy Hideo Kojima spoke about how he feels a two-layer Blu-ray Disc with a 50GB capacity is not enough for the upcoming game.
Forgive us here, as our Japanese translating skills… well, don’t exist, so we’ve had to resort to using an online translation. Accordingly, Kojima said “We in the quality is still not satisfactory. However, I do not have enough capacity”. He later added “As usual, but it is and where to prune, where to compress things to me”. It would appear that he is saying the Blu-ray format even means something has to give, and the game has been compressed how Kojima doesn’t necessarily want to see it.
According to the blog post, the two-layer 8.5GB DVD would require around five or six separate discs for the same quality as the two-layer Blu-ray. An image was then posted of what a possible X360 version of the game could look like, and it would appear that several readers found this misleading due to how real it looks.

Does this mean MGS 4 has lost its PS3 exclusivity? If it does, we’ll eat our collective hat once we’ve bought one. Still, it’s open to speculation – let us know what you think in the forums.
