Metal Gear Solid to be released on PSN

Konami looks set to announce that the ultimate Metal Gear Solid experience - MGS for the PSOne - will be making its way to the PlayStation Network sometime in the next month, after the launch of Guns Of The Patriot. Along with further rumours that they are also planning to launch a software update with MGS4 to include cross media bar integration and those infamous trophies, it seems this is another rumoured aspect of the MGS saga.

The series has always been rumoured to appear in some shape or form on one of many downloadable services for various consoles over the last year. Microsoft's rival machine, the 360, is also being touted to recieve the original Playstation classic very shortly, if reliable sources are to be believed.

An original source over at PartnerNet, the developers-only Xbox Live network used to beta-test unreleased downloadable Xbox 360 games, commented on the rumours, and now it seems we are likely to hear from Konami imminently on this hot topic.

Tommy: Well they did release the essential collection in the U.S.A. I'd really like to own that but 1: It's american and 2: My ps3 is a 40gb so it can't play PS2 games :(

SamStrife: No but it would have been nicer to be able to play it before the last in the series rather than after.

Dave: Did Metal Gear Solid 4 need anymore build up really?

SamStrife: A little too late. Should have come out in the build up to MGS4, not the aftermath. Sony are really getting on my nerves with all these decisons lately. + it's already on the Japanese store
