told arstechnica that Sony are phasing out the 80GB PS3 models, and we can expect to see this model in retail stores for another two months before stock becomes scarce. Taking over as the prevalent PS3 model will be the 160GB, but marketing is key here as selling through this stock sets them up for a good start to launch the PS3 Slim in the fall.
