Payton: Metal Gear Solid 5 - Prequel to Solid Snake
Ryan Payton has disclosed information surrounding a possible entry in the Metal Gear Solid series, with a prequel to the saga a strong recurring symbol of the direction that they are looking at taking the franchise.
With Solid Snakes story now officialy over, a new era is to begin, with the fifth title in the series returning to the plotlines surrounding some of the other MGS characters, with Big Boss's branching storyline to be at the forefront of most speculation.
When quizzed about MGS4 and the series' future, Payton explained: "There are some misunderstandings that this is the final Metal Gear game. But it's really the final chapter of the Solid Snake story. That's all."
Payton continues, "I'm happy we could wrap up Snake's story in MGS4. If we continue on with Metal Gear Solid 5 with more Solid Snake adventures, we'll get to the point where the game has absolutely no basis in reality.. He's had four or five really big missions, and that seems a little more realistic to me."
Interesting developments from the Konami camp, and one which we will be keeping a very close eye on come this E3, when who knows, a very early sneak peek at the next installment wouldn't be completely off the cards now would it, hey Konami?
