Resident Evil 5 Predicted To Sell 2.3 Million
Gazing into a crystal ball, Capcom expects Resident Evil 5 to sell 2.3 million units worldwide by the end of its first year on sale. It’s often easy to forget how big a number one million is, but even taking that into account, 2.3 million sounds somewhat small for a series as popular as Resident Evil.
Combining sales of Resi 4 on the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and Wii, it has sold over 4.8 million units worldwide, and if Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition was able to sell over 1.25 million units in a year, we’re wondering why Capcom only expects Resi 5 to rake in 2.3 million. Either way, if it’s anywhere near as good as 4, Capcom’s expectations will be exceeded!
