Rock Band dated for UK, X360 exclusive release confirmed
Although most of you will be patiently waiting for the PS3 version of EA's upcoming rhythm action title Rock Band, it have confirmed this morning that the game is finally getting a UK release on May 23, but only on rival console X360 initially.
The PS3 and Wii versions will be following in the summer, backing up theories that EA has been having trouble with the motion control of the Wii version and the high powered production costs of the PS3. Although a serious blow for anyone expecting to rock in the UK on their shiny new PlayStation anytime soon, X360 fans can rejoice in the fact that they will also be getting another 70 downloadable songs on the Live service from May 27, including nine exclusive tracks for Britain. This will add to the already available 67 tracks out of the box. No word on how much the bundle will cost in the UK yet though. We have contacted EA for more.
The songs will be retailing for just over 160 Microsoft Points on the Live service, which equates to around £1.00 per song. Keep checking PlayStationBeyond for the latest on the PS3 release date.
