SOCOM: Confrontation public beta kicks off Sept. 1

The official SOCOM site announced that the beta of SOCOM: Confrontation will be made available to the public next week on September 1. The download side will be approximately 2 GB. Developed by Slant Six instead of Zipper Interactive, Confrontation is a side game in the series, rather than a full out sequel to SOCOM 3. Confrontation returns the series to its tactical, squad-based roots. SOCOM European beta confirmed

Finally it looks as though the more tatically alined of us, in Europe of course, will have the chance to play the upcoming SOCOM in its beta form. It'll be the same trial as North America and run on the same date; September 1st to the 30th. Here's the comment from the PlayStation Blog. Hi all! Okay, this is the news you’ve all been waiting for. Socom: Confrontation Public Beta annouced

While a release date has yet to be confirmed, the US Official Socom website has officially confirmed the public beta. Readers will have noticed this as sony mentioned it when showing Qore for the first time earlier today. There will be two ways in which you will be able to get into the beta, the first of which is by subcribing to Qore via the Playstation network, by using this method you will also get access to some exclusive behind the scenes Socom: Confrontation video's.... SOCOM Confrontation places its sight on September

According to 1up, Sony has just made the announcement that its tactical first-person shooting game, SOCOM: Confrontation will be shipping for the PS3 on September 16 this year. The game looks to follow in the steps of its two prequels giving you wonderful Navy Seal versus terrorist action, and it promises to be one of the best FPS titles to date on the system. Lock and load boy, and move out! In any case, it seems that this year just keeps on improving for PlayStation fans, with SOCOM adding just one more great game to the already substantial line up....
