Sega has finally announced the secret game under the mysterious title "Project Needlemouse," and it's SONIC THE HEDGEHOG 4! The big reveal on Sega's official blog has released a new trailer that you can watch after the jump and the official website . The Sonic series has seen many different spinoffs and 3D iterations that were laughably unplayable at best, which is why a traditional 2D pinball-styled speed-run happy old-school Sonic game is a blessing for all Sonic fans. Finally, kids today will understand why Sonic was the anti-Mario icon that had garnered so much attention and attracted such a large loyal following. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is the Sonic we've been waiting for.
Quite worrying though, is the addition to the title: Episode 1. That means that the great game of Sonic will be broken down into episodic contents, which is another way of saying "making you pay multiple times for one game." Still, this news is great news, and we cannot wait until this game is launched. Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1 is slated to release for the PSN in summer, 2010.
