Sony unveils fresh new Home details
Sony has confirmed some fantastic new HOME details today as part of its partial unveling at a recent tech show in Monte Carlo. Fresh details inside
A brand new version of the Playstation Home service has been revealed at a recent technology show in Monte Carlo, allowing videogame journalists and the unsuspecting public to address key new details in its upcoming autumn launch in 2008.
The previous information we already understood about the game, with its many apartments and indoor features have given way to more outside environments, with signposts to help giude players around the massive community interface. A brand new movie theatre has also been confirmed, with two floors, a bowling alley, basketball court and arcade area, where classic PS games could become available to play over the next few months after the software is launched.
There is also a designated area where players can meet up and combat in chess and checkers, and gamble on slot machines and other practical forms of digitised entertainment.
Although the actual Home is free to download as part of the PSNetwork, players can use real money to splash out on furniture, clothes, wallpaper and other magical aesthetical wonders that will make your new world a much more complete package. There is also confirmation of planned movie and theatre downloads of upcoming games and titles within the environment.

'The initial release, Home version 1.0, will undergo post-release expansion, says Sony, as more content is added via online updates, with Home Developer Kits having reportedly gone out to Sony partners already.
Home will offer the chance for gamers to get together with old friends and make new ones," he added, continuing: "It will offer endless entertainment, including gaming. We've certainly raised the bar with what people have seen in virtual worlds to date."
