In today's THQ investors call, CEO Brian Farrell confirmed the much expected and anticipated sequels to Saints Row and Darksiders.
Saints Row carries the Grand Theft Auto sandbox playground to an extreme by featuring crazier stunts and bigger explosions. While GTA has moved away from its sandbox roots in favor for a more dramatic action style, fans of the over-the-top playground style are begging for something to take its place. Sants Row may be the answer, so expect the sequel to the most successful GTA clone to launch in the fiscal year of 2012.
Now, Darksiders is THQ's most recent success. Combining God of War action with Zelda exploration and puzzles, Darksiders has earned its sequel by featuring the most bad ass character since Kratos. Maybe this time we'll follow another Horseman of the Apocalypse like Famine or Death. Anyways, 2012 is going to be a good year.
