The Getaway and 8 Days cancelled due to lack of multiplayer

In an interview with Developmag.com Phil Harrison's replacement Shuhei Yoshida commeted on why both 8 days and The Getaway 3 were cancelled.

The head of SCEWW (Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide) commented on how it was mainly due to their lack of online functions.

Yoshida said how online technology and the PlayStation Network are the big pushes, where games like Singstar, Little Big Planet and Buzz will push the PS3 online functionality in new ways.

It dosnt mean the end for pure single player games, but if they aren't a big name, they may not make it to the shelves.
