Thumbs up for Burnout Paradise
The flow of reviews for Criterion's latest attempt have begun to trickle in. All round positive opinions.
An Edge 9, an IGN 8.8 and a 1UP 9. Just some of the high scores Burnout Paradise has been receiving from the industry's top publications and gaming websites. At the time of typing it has an overall rating of 87.9% on gameraknings.com. Perhaps considering the franchise, it should have scored a higher overall mark, but let's not forget that with innovation comes risk.
The latest installment in the series is significantly different from it predecessors in how it approaches the sections in between races and events, so it's unsurprising that some would have preferred a most traditional game. I, for one, welcome the attempt and believe Criterion have succeed in blurring the lines between online and offline gameplay, with it's seamless integration of the two.
The general consensus is that the PS3 version is marginally superior in the textures department and features less screen tearing. Apart from that, both versions are identical.
Expect more reviews in the coming days and perhaps even one from your beloved PSBeyond. Only if you're good though.
