Tony Hawk overhaul

The Tony Hawk series is recognisable to any gamer worldwide, with 30 million units shipped since 1999 it’s easy to see the solid foundations Activision has in the world of skate games.

However Activision’s latest title Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground was beaten all ends up by EA’s shot at a skate game, simply named Skate. Hawk’s 'button masher' style gameplay was outdated in late 2007 with Skate’s 'Flick It' system. With this sort of reaction felt all through the gaming community, Activision has set out to reinvent the series which is dubbed the Tony Hawk Innovation Plan by Activision’s Senior Vice President, Will Kassoy. Beyond the name of the innovation project, no further details are known in regard to the specific overhaul of the games.

We can only speculate on what changes they are, with many people reporting a new fresh trick system and online service. All we really can say is to watch this space…
