Pre-order Black Ops 2 before the stressful holiday season
Call of Duty games always raise a huge buzz, so pre-orders are available as soon as right now. The release date for Call of Duty Black Ops 2 is currently scheduled for November 13 2012 on the PlayStation 3, X-BOX 360 and PC. One of the bonuses offered with the pre-order is an exclusive wallpaper from Amazon.
The URL for the wallpaper will be e-mailed as soon as the game ships. As always, Amazon guarantees the lowest pre-order price. A holiday season release means there will be plenty of games fighting for our attention, so it may be a good idea to get it over with early for Call of Duty fans. This new installment to the Call of Duty franchise will take the player into the near 21st century future, where a new Cold War is going on. As a result, weapons and technology add a lot of new factors to warfare.
The game is set the year 2025, as opposed to the Cold War mid-20th century setting of the original. The story of Black Ops 2 revolves around the United States and China being locked in a bloodless conflict following a cyberattack that crashed that Chinese Stock Exchange. To get some prestory out, the first few levels of Call of Duty Black Ops 2 go back to the 1980s to establish the main antagonist – a person by the name of Raul Mendez, who manipulates both nations.
This latest installment brings a brand new element to the story – Strike Force missions. These are essentially bonus mission, where if the player dies, the campaign goes on as normal with a recorded loss. The success rate in these missions alters a lot of the story and even the outcome of the Cold War as well, but the player is always shown what could have gone differently. Essentially, this will be the first game in the franchise to have branching storylines and multiple endings.
Interestingly enough, this is the first time Call of Duty will give single player some real love, so if you’re one of those people who can’t get into mutliplayer, the upcoming game may still be worth a look. Will it set a new sales record when it launches during the 2012 holiday season?
