Yakuza 5 Pre-Release News
Sega has officially announced the name of the next game in the Yakuza series. The name of the fifth game in the franchise will be Ryu ga Gotoku Of The End and will be available exclusively on PS3. Further details on the upcoming video games should be disclosed at the Tokyo Game Show.
The Yakuza franchise has been so successful that it pushed Nissan to do a “Yakuza Study” – the team of developers (led by series creator Toshihiro Nagoshi) which will focus only on this brand. The development of the title was announced without too many details. Meanwhile the Yakuza team will also be working on a sequel for the PlayStation Portable spin-off: Yakuza: Black Panther 2. The latter should be out in March 2012 in Japan, no word yet on the launch in the U.S. and Europe.
Toshihiro Nagoshi from SEGA revealed the first bit of info about the new episode of the saga with a Yakuza 5 trail after the announcement at the Tokyo Game Show last year. For the first time the title will allow us to explore 5 different Japanese cities: Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka.
Kazuma Kiryu will be the protagonist again , even though the developers did not specify if he is the only one. In Yakuza 4 the story was built on various playable characters, including Kiryu himself. The producer of the title, Toshihiro Nagoshi has confirmed that the game will resume the story from the fourth episode , skipping the spin-off Yakuza: Of The End.
Nagoshi has also confirmed that because of the collaboration with the Binary Domain home team they are working on several improvements to the game engine, trying to speed up loading, improve camera movements and add new presentation elements.
A release date for the game Yakuza 5 has not yet been announced and it is still being in the early stages of development.
SEGA has also released a new video of Yakuza 5.
