Top 10 Video Games That Killed Their Franchises

The original Dungeon Keeper was developed by Bullfrog Studios in 1997 and became a cult hit because of the unique dungeon building concept.

The much later released iOS/Android version, on the other hand, became one of the most draconian freemium games, requiring microtransactions to do practically anything at all. To top it off, when the game asks you to rate it, you get an option between 1-4 stars and 5 stars.

Choosing 1-4 stars doesn’t take you to the app store, but instead asks you to email the developers. Obviously, one can rate it on the app store manually, but that’s still pretty unethical on EA’s part.
